Once at the detaining centre Nakia stands watch over windows looking out onto the main street while the rest of us observe Klaue. "Hello." the criminal says looking into the mirror that changed into a window so we can peer inside, he giggles crazily "I can see you! I can. I can see you." Then he starts making kissing noises. I curl my lip in disgust before saying to T'Challa, who is standing next to me, "I don't know if he just crazy or trying to make us uncomfortable." Ross comes over to us not giving T'Challa a chance to answer me as he says "so this is a big mess, huh? I figured we could go good cop, bad cop. I'll talk to him fist, then you guy go in."
Okoye cuts through him without an apology and says in Xhosa "we can't let him talk to Klaue alone." and we all look over at Agent Ross, T'Challa smirks at the look confusion on Ross's face as he replies "better to let him talk to Klaue alone for 5 minutes then to make a scene here." Okoye sighs and turns back to our prisoner while T'Challa addresses the American "after your questioning, we will take him back to Wakanda with us." Ross does not look pleased as he steps closer to the one way mirror. "What? No. Look, I like you, a lot." he says "but he is in my custody now. He's not going anywhere. Listen I'm doing you guys a favour by letting you even be in here."
He hits T'Challa on the chest in a friendly gesture but Okoye turns and scowls menacingly at him "if he touches you again, I'm going to impale him to this desk." she says and I snort crossing my arms across my chest "I will join her, but only because I don't like him." T'Challa smirks at the both of us before Ross asks "does she speak English?" Okoye answers for herself smoothly "when she wants to."
I cover up my laugh with a cough as Ross announces "Im going in. And when I'm done, you guys are up." Before he can make it to the door I step forward and clear my throat before saying "agent Ross." he turns around to face me, surprised as this is the first time I have addressed him since all of the business with Steve "we do appreciate your help in Busan." and I pat him on the back. He seems almost proud as he looks at Okoye and says "you see that? its called diplomacy." and he heads into the room.
I stand back next to T'Challa and he asks quietly "did you do it?" and I nod, putting my hands in my pockets. We stand there and watch Ross interrogate Klaue. Of course Klaue is trying convince Ross of the truth and of course Ross doesn't believe him.
Once he is done Ross comes back out looking more annoyed then when he went in. "Your father told the UN that Klaue stole all of the vibranium you had." He says to T'Challa "but now he is telling me you have more." T'Challa's face remains neutral, calm and collected. He folds his arms behind his back and says "and you believe the word of an arms dealer strapped to a chair?"
Ross narrows his eyes and asks "how much more are you hiding?" As if by magic Nakia comes bursting into the room with her arms raised before turning to us and speaking in rapid Xhosa "something is happening out back." and then there is an explosion, Okoye and I lean over T'Challa as a reflex to protect him. Then there are gun shots, I am hit in the arm and I hiss in pain. I try to create a forcefield but fail so instead lay on the floor, protecting two innocent humans from the gun fire. T'Challa changes into his suit and Okoye brings out her spear.
"Grenade!" someone shouts and without hesitating the king of Wakanda leaps on it just as it explodes, collecting all of its power before racing out of the hall in the wall where Klaue escaped. "My King!" Okoye shouts as we all rush out to see if he is ok "my king, Nakia." and they both come back inside. Nakia is leaning over agent Ross who is writhing on the floor in pain "he just jumped in front of me." Nakia explains "I don't think he'll make it here. It hit his spine."
T'Challa think it over for a little bit before holding out his hand "give me a Kimoyo bead." he says gently and she does. He takes it and places into the wound "this will stabilise him for now." and Ross gets knocked out "give him to us." T'Challa says to the other agents "we can save him."
