Chp 34 : PAST TRAUMA AND THE CHANGE 3

Papa started losing more and more. But he couldn't stop himself as he was completely addicted to gambling. He started selling the articles in the home, he demanded mama to sell her ornaments.

Mama opposed but papa beat her up. Everyday this was happening. Mama didn't
gave up. Mama found a new job in a handloom sector. She worked day and night while constantly getting beating from papa. She used to earn a little but she didn't let my studies stop. Father used to snatch money from her everday and gamble

I wanted to barge in but seeing the worked up yet horrifying face of father I couldn't move.

Then came the most horrifying day of my life, the day to pay the loan. My father was not at home. It was just me and mama. Two big guys came to our house. Even they questioned about the condition we were living in.

One of the big guys demanded the loan money from mama. But obviously, the condition we were in, it was impossible for us to pay the loan.

One of them had some other intentions in his mind. He asked mom to pay with her body. Any woman would reject such nasty demands in a second and mama did the same. But both of them forced themselves on her.

I was watching all this from my bedroom ,hiding behind the door. Every inch of my body wanted to run out to those guys and kill them but my fear held me back. Tears started running out of my eyes.

Mama was still resisting. She poked fingers into the eyes of one of those guys. That screamed out in pain. He got angry. He grabbed a nearby vase and hit mama in the head with it. She started bleeding and fell to the ground. She begged those guys for help.

Mama was dead...

Both of them left mama in that state. I was freezed. My hands went cold, full of sweat. I wanted to move; but I couldn't. I wanted to cry; but I couldn't.

After sometime papa came home.
