Harry's POV 1:00 am
Okay today is the day or night I guess. What the hell am I talking about! It's 1am she won't pick up. On the other hand it is the weekend she should be up. Eh I'll take the risk. I worked up enough courage to call Jessica.

Ringing...

"Hello?" She answered the phone. Her voice sounded a bit worried.

I cleared my throat. "Uh Hey Jess it's Harry," I have to admit I was nervous. Since I was a vampire my emotions were heightened. So it made it even worse.

"Hey, Harry I didn't know you had my number,"

"Yeah, I asked Simone to give it to me," I smiled a bit.

"Well Harry I gotta go. Um it's not a good time to talk right now," the worry in her voice became more noticeable.

"Wait. What's going on," I asked curiously.

"Luke's been beaten up pretty badly. Ashton said he's been injected with vervain. Whatever that is, it's making him sick,"

Shit.

"Where are you guys. I'm heading over there now," I said concerned.

"We're at Luke's house," she spoke quickly. I heard Ashton talking in the background.

"Put him on the bed," Ashton said.

"How did you know where his key was?" Ari asked.

"Is that really what you're focused on right now Ari!" He snapped.

"Sorry..."

"Uh yeah I'll be on my way," I said to Jess one more time.

"Bye" I ended the call.

It only took me 5 minutes to get to Luke's house even though I have vampire speed but I had to change what I was wearing. I kinda spilled blood on it.

I opened the door and walked into Luke's room. He laid on the bed weak with blood and bruises all over his body. Wonder who he ticked off this time.

The three remained bickering, trying to figure out what to do. They didn't even notice I was standing right there. I went to get a cold ice pack from the fridge. Then went back to them.

"How's he doing," I said and everyone's attention went on me.

"Wow well you got here fast," Jess said surprised.

"Uh yeah been here for a while now," I walked across the room, putting the ice pack on Luke's forehead.

"Well he's had enough vervain to put him down for 3 hours. We don't know how long he's been out before Ari and I got there." Ashton said sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Bartender said he was drunk when he left," Ari spoke softly. Oh that sounds like Luke alright. He is always drinking.

"He won't be up for a while. We should probably wait in the living room," I said. They followed me into living room since they didn't know where to go. It was a big house after all. We took a seat somewhere.

"Who would do this to him," Ari said

"Maybe someone robbed him," Jess guessed.

"No that's not it. All the money in his wallet is still there," Ashton crossed his arms still confused.

"Everyone hates Luke. So it might be hard to find the person who did it," I said. As far as I know someone's plotting their revenge against him.

"Someone hated him so much to almost kill him," Jess freaked and paced back and forth.

"Luke probably killed someone. That someone could've been close with the person who hurt Luke," I spoke up trying to put the pieces together.

"Killed!?" Jess exclaimed. She was the only one freaking out. Ari and Ashton seemed calm.

"She doesn't know what he is," Ashton whispered real soft so that only I could hear. I guess he knew what I was.

A Vampire.

"Should I tell her?" I whispered back. I kinda figured he was a vampire too. Ashton turned to me and nodded.

"Jess calm down. Luke's a vampire. It's in his nature," I cooed, walking towards her. I sat her back down in the chair.

"A vampire?" She shook her head and started freaking out more. "I can't deal with all this supernatural stuff," she paused. "It's too much if people are gonna get hurt," She breathed out.

"Why'd you move to the Gates then," Ashton questioned a little rude.

"Because I-I don't K-know. I-I" Jess started stuttering.

Ari smacks Ashton on the arm. "Ow" he yelped.

"Go easy on her okay." She spoke toward Ashton and rolled her eyes. "You'll be fine Jessica,"

"All this supernatural crap is making my head throb." Jessica puts her hands on her head.

"I thought you were a succubus though," Ari tried to reason with her. Before Jessica could say anything I intervened.

"She not," I said stern and clear. Their awkward stares around the room. Them Jess puts this stupid look on her face.

"Wait what?" Jess stood up from her chair walking towards me. Man she was beautiful.

"You're human. At least that's what your scent tells me," I smiled and tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear. She felt relieved for a second but began to worry again.

Humans. They worry too much. They're so whiny but Jessica, she's just over the top. Then again she didn't seem all the way human. Something was off. The way she smelled, different from most humans. Everyone's unique in some way right?

"Why am I here then? Did my aunt lie to me?" She continued to spit out questions. Some I do not know the answer to. "Is this a dream? How did you get here if you don't even know Luke's address? How'd you get here so fast? What if you're the one lying to me?" She paused and took a deep breath. "Wait did you say you smelled me?" I nodded answering her question. "What the..." She would never swear so she stopped herself.

"To answer you're questions," I made the 's' long in question. "Idk, Maybe, No, I live here, Vampire speed, I'm not, and Yes I did smell you," I took a seat on the couch.

It took Jess a minute to put all my answers to her questions. Soon she put it all together.

"Excuse me. You said you lived here?" Ari said confused. Of corse they wouldn't know. Luke would never tell them. Even his only friend Ashton doesn't know. He was just as clueless as the rest. It's kinda sad if you ask me.

"Yep," I said popping the 'p'.

"Soo how do you know Luke?" Jess asked and sat down next to me on the couch. Her heart was beating fast. I laughed to myself considering that all this drama is happening at 2am.

"Well uh it's not very complicated-," I get cut off by a rusty accent.

"He's my brother," Luke said walking into the living room.
