Your POV

It's been five days since Mikey stayed at my apartment and it just felt natural. I don't really mind having someone with me at home since it's a bit big for me to stay in. Coming home with someone waiting for you just feels better than being greeted by silence.

I planned to buy a pet so I won't lonely but I don't think I don't need one for now.

"What happened to you?" Grandpa Sano asked, referring to the bruise on my neck.

"Just a small bruise." I answered in a polite way.

Frankly, I don't remember anything other than blacking out. Mikey told me that he found me passed out just at the entrance of my apartment so I probably hit a corner or something. I took a leave after that since I have to be healthy to take care of others

"Looks like someone karate chopped you. I know it when I see one." He said.

"Huh?"

"Be thankful that it was a weak chop or you could've died." He said, while I only laughed awkwardly.

"E-eh? Is that so?" I asked while changing his bed covers.

"You know, I used to own a dojo and teach young ones how to use martial arts. My grandchildren also learned from me...well, not all of them wanted to." He narrated while I listened attentively.

"I see, your grandchildren must be strong." I said.

"One is a prodigy." He said proudly as he stared outside the window.

I would really like to ask him if he knows Manjiro or Kuya Shin but I was instructed not to since I might make his dementia worse.

My job is to take care of him, not to pry to his personal matters.

"Mikey? I'm back." I called after returning home when my shift was over. He peeked over the door like a curious cat and honestly, he looks cute.

I can't understand him since he can be lowkey clingy or evasive while I'm here so I'm always confused.

Sometimes he'll follow me around the house but when I ask him if he needs anything he'll ignore me and do something else.

Tama ba talaga yung desisyon ko na tumulong, Lord?

[T: Am I right to help him, Lord?]

Walking to the kitchen with some vegetables I bought, I began to prepare our dinner. I feel like I'm raising a stray kitten or puppy that I picked up on a rainy day. But I've always been alert since I don't really know him yet and based on my observation for the past days I've been with him, I smell something fishy about him.
