Your POV

I am with Mr. Takeomi in the office while he helps me with some paperwork. Just a while ago, Manjiro left with Koko to do some work.

It was hard convincing him to go since he wanted to stay but work should be finished on time.

"It looks like you would work well on your own, Ms. Luz." Mr. Takeomi says after reviewing the papers that I have finished.

"Not at all, I would've finished these longer if not for your help." I said.

"Either way, you did a good job." He says, putting down the papers on the table.

"I just had an excellent teacher that's all." I said, remembering the times that Koko was teaching me back at home.

"You're being too humble. It's not that bad to take a compliment you know." He says while I chuckled awkwardly.

"Well, now that you are done with your paperwork, you are free to have a break and roam the restaurant if you like." He says.

I simply nodded while he went to his office next door. I sighed when he left and stretched like a cat after a nap, hearing some satisfying pops.

"Parang wala pang isang oras yun ah, ang bilis naman." I muttered.

[T: That took less than an hour, that was quick.]

As a nurse who mostly took night shifts, it feels so weird to have less work than usual.

"Try ko nalang muna umikot-ikot" I muttered and stood up from my chair. Since I'm the one supervising this place, I need to be at least familiar with the place.

[T: I'll try to roam around for a bit.]

Nasa office lang ako kanina at may ginagawa ako kaya di ko masyado marinig sa labas. Grabeh pala sila kabusy dito.

[T: I was just in the office before and I was doing something so I couldn't hear much outside. They're so busy here.]

Simply walking and keeping out of everyone's way, I heard some kind of ruckus at one of the tables.

It was a VIP or something that was scolding a waiter for being clumsy. It made me furrow my brows in annoyance and sigh.

Pati ba naman dito, may ganitong mga tao.

[T: There's still these kinds of people even here.]

I couldn't just let it be seeing the poor waiter shaking and profusely apologizing.

"Excuse me, is there anything wrong?" I asked, in a forced polite manner.

"Huh? Who are you?" The customer asked while I just introduced myself as the current manager of the resto.

"Hmph, just in time. I was about to make him call the manager of this place but you came down on your own." They sarcastically remarked and an irk mark appeared on my head whilst I kept smiling.

Kumalma ka muna Luz, customer parin yan.

[T: Calm down a bit Luz, they're still a customer.]

"What can I do for you, dear customer? What seems to be the problem?" I asked with subtle sarcasm but they didn't seem to notice.

Ang manhid naman amputa.

[T: They're so numb to sarcasm, what the heck.]

"This waiter of this place had ruined my mood for dining by refusing to get a waitress to serve us instead. And since you're the manager of this place, you will be the one to serve us for compensation that way, the owner of this place would not know the incompetence of their employees." They said with a sickening grin and my smile slowly dropped and my eyed turned to glare.

That look on their face reminded me of that pig that shamelessly kidnapped me and even called me exotic it makes my blood boil.

"*sigh* Aba gago ka pala eh, inaaway mo tong empleyado ko dahil gusto mo ng babae na maging waiter mo? Anong akala mo sa restaurant na ito, babuyan?" I said, pinching the bridge of my nose in annoyance.

[T: *sigh* You're so stupid, you're fighting with my employee because you want a woman to be your waiter? What do you think of this restaurant, piggery?]

This is just the first day and yet I get to handle bothersome people like this.

"What?" He said, glaring in annoyance.

"Excuse me but this place doesn't welcome people like you. Please leave." I said.

"What did you say? Do you even know who I am? You're making a big mistake." They said in anger but I didn't care.

"It doesn't matter who you are, please leave before I call the guards." I said with a bit of courtesy since I'm still a worker here.

"Don't tell me what to do, you clearly don't have enough experience in managing a business. Call the owner of this place this instant." They said, banging the table in anger.

Tangina neto, nakakadistorbo siya sa ibang customer.

[T: This fucker, they're disturbing the other customers.]

"Fine." I said then faced the waiter who was in trouble a while ago.

"Can you please call the owner of this place?" I asked with a smile.

"U-uhm, but y-you're the owner." He says and I fake gasped then turned to the stingy customer.

"Oh my, I forgot I was the owner of this place now. So, dear customer, is there any problem?" I asked, slightly covering mg mouth as I smirked and looked down on them.

"Y-you-"

"If there is none then I would like you to leave since you're bothering the other customers. We're still quite busy and there are other people that want to dine here." I said but they stayed silent and stood in a place so I have no other choice but to call Mr. Kanji to drag them out.

I apologized to the other customers for the disturbance and offered to give a free dessert as compensation. I hope Manjiro won't mind though.

Baka isipin niya na unang araw ng trabaho lugi agad.

[T: What if he'll think that I've bankrupted the business on my first day.]

"Are you okay?" I asked the scared employee and he nodded and thanked me for helping him and asked for forgiveness for being the cause of trouble.

"No, it wasn't your fault. This time, the customer was wrong." I said and he eased up a little.

"Thank you ma'am." He says and bowed.

"Ma'am if you don't mind me asking, what brings you out here?" He asked

"Well, I just had free time so I decided to roam around to be familiar with the place. Also, you can just call me Luz, I'm not that comfortable in being addressed too formally." I said and pat his shoulder. He was hesitant but eventually agreed because I insisted.

I also asked him to show me where the kitchen was and led me there. It was way busier than usual and the head chef was shouting here and there.

It made me wonder why I can't hear these noises outside the kitchen. Are the walls soundproof?

"YOU TWO OVER THERE? WHY ARE YOU STANDING  STILL, THERE IS A LOT OF WORK TO DO! HURRY UP!" The head chef states, pointing at me and the waiter a while ago.

"C-chef, she's the-"

"Shh, don't tell. C'mon, we have work to do." I said and headed to take the orders to the customers.

This is it, I've been itching to work and I found it. The rush reminds me of the times I was stationed in the emergency room, no time should be wasted.
