Danielo's POV

"You grew up quite well considering that your mother raised you." A man who sits in front of me said as he watches the streets through the glass window of his office. I stood silently as he continued to talk nonsense in front of me.

"How have you been, father?" I greeted. He answered how he's been but I did not really care at all.

He called me to come closer and look down the busy streets of Tokyo and asked me what do I see. Answering his question I told him that they're just a bunch of unnotable people that is not worth to even mentioning. Laughing amusingly at my response, he tapped my back, seemingly proud and satisfied.

"My blood really runs dominant in your veins, finally an offspring of mine that shares the same views as mine! You're right, those are people that are not even worth remembering. " He said and asked me to sit across from him as he called his secretary to prepare tea.

"Your mother isn't as useless as I thought seeing that you fit my expectations. I guess the money I kept sending was worth the investment compared to the others." He said and I try to hold myself from showing anger.

I always knew, he was sending money to mom but it stopped when I was 10 so mom tried her best and worked to let me live comfortably. This bastard did nothing and watched us suffer. One of the reasons I didn't allow Luz to work abroad was that I didn't want her to suffer like my mother.

An overseas worker loving their employer is not uncommon but there are those who are unlucky. Only used as a past-time, he threw mom away while she was pregnant with me and settled with sending money. But since he had multiple women to support, he chose who he saw as worthwhile.

"You're the only son I have left, your other siblings were worthless and cowards. But before I decide to give you the right to own the company I have, let me ask you one thing. What drives a man like us to achieve what he wants?" He asked seriously, giving off a pressuring aura.

I crossed my legs, leaned back, and clasped my fingers together as I smiled at him.

"What else could it be other than greed? With greed, one can get whatever one wants through any means possible. Won't you agree, father?" I answered, smirking as I did. He burst into laughter like a psycho on the loose.

"Good, good! You really are different from the others. Now, I can see you are worthy to be my heir. I'll have your last name changed to mine. Work harder and show me your greed, I look forward to it, son. Don't disappoint me." He said.

"Yes, father." I replied.

What a naive old man, I already knew what you want and how you have killed off your children that does not satisfy you. Do you think I'm tame like my mother? Think again. This dog you thought you can train will bite you once you turn around.

Your POV

I slowly regain my consciousness as the ray of sunlight hits my face. Sharp pain in my head greeted my morning. The hangover was the first thing that greeted me in my wake.

"Ugh" I groaned as I rubbed my temple to slightly relieve the pain. I looked around and realized that I was back where I and Mikey currently live.

Did he carry me home? I can't remember anything from last night but I hope he's not mad for me being wasted.

Getting out of bed and refreshing myself up, the headache still bothers me but it's nothing I can't handle. Besides, this is what I get for drinking too much.

Making my way down the living room, an enticing smell of eggs and soup came from the kitchen. Sneaking my way through, I peeked over and saw Manjiro cooking with the help of a youtube video.

I can tell he's so focused and serious that he didn't notice me come closer. Not only that, but he was also wearing the cute (favorite color) apron that I received from the last Christmas party I attended in the Philippines.

I stayed silent until he finally finished cooking and waited behind him. The look of satisfaction and the sigh of relief when he was done made me feel so fuzzy inside. I'm just happy that he's finding joy in small things like this.

"Hmm, maybe drinking too much was worth it after all." I muttered which took his attention.

"How long have you been here?" He asked.

"I've been here ever since you were trying to measure salt with measuring spoons." I said with a smile while he turned a bit embarrassed and changed the topic.

Placing the food on the table, we begin to dine. The omelette he made tastes surprisingly good, it's rare for me to see him cook so I was worried he doesn't know how to.

"Do you like it?" He asked, leaning his chin on his palm and smiling as he watches me eat.

"It's good! I didn't know you can cook this well." I exclaimed and continued to eat. Manjiro simply chuckled and smiled before eating his food. To wake up on a peaceful morning feels like a blessing.

"You know, Lulu-chin. I've been thinking about something..." He said as I wash the dishes. I asked him what was bothering him and his answer left me surprised.

"Why don't we meet your parents in person? I'm kind of curious about them and I know you miss them too. How about we go next week for a vacation and stay there until Christma- Wait, why are you crying, Lulu-chin? Did I say something wrong?" He said in worry, coming closer to me to wipe my tears. I don't know why I was crying but I think it's because I was happy.

"Huh? You did nothing wrong. May tumalsik lang na sabon sa mata ko." I said, brushing off the awkwardness with a chuckle. I never thought he'll ever want to meet my parents, or at least, not this early but I guess it's alright.

I asked who would be left to manage to the restaurant while we're gone and he just said he'll take care of it. Telling me not to worry and hugging me from behind while resting his chin on my shoulder.

I can already imagine what it is like to introduce him to my parents and I just know that everything will go fine. Strangely enough, I knew I'd been having dreams about their meeting but I always forget when I wake up. Deja vu is also a common thing to me now but I always wonder if it means something else. What if I can see the future or something?

"Haha, impossible." I muttered, erasing the ridiculous thought in my head.

"Hmm? What's wrong?" Manjiro asked while I just shook my head and said that it was nothing to worry about and we should get going or we'll be late for work.
