MARINA

After talking about the plan, we all decided to take a rest. Nagtungo sa kani-kaniya nilang mga kuwarto ang parte ng Cicada at nanatili naman kami ni Aki sa rooftop ng nasabing gusali.

I stare at the moon while my head is resting on his broad shoulder. My mind still can't digest every fact that was thrown towards my way. The information are all there, stuck, stagnant like the water where Nadia's body was found. But the truth is, that wasn't really Nadia.

That was someone else's body.

Of course, I was a bit furious when she said that she took someone from the hospital just to plan out her fake death. I mean, you could've done something else without dragging anyone with your own problem. At that moment she told me about it, I couldn't help but to pity the corpse's family. Were they able to recover after knowing that their loved one's body went missing from the morgue?

I know they weren't. I know they questioned her disappearance just like I did to Nadia.

She already told me that they reached out to her family and made sure that the woman's younger brother had a bright future waiting for him. But still, that didn't justify the fact that they stole someone else's body just to cover up something.

I also discovered why Blue still know me even if the entire university was manipulated to disregard my existence.

"It was all because of the tumbler," Blue says. "When you said that I should avoid the wedding, I already assumed that you were talking about the program."

"And what did you do to avoid the manipulation?"

"I got myself out of the university. I injured my left ankle so bad that the clinic won't be able to accommodate me. So, they rushed me to the nearest hospital. And I was saved from being mind controlled."

It seemed to me that Blue and I had shared so much in the past that he trusted my words that much. But I never dug deeper into that matter since he already assured me that we were not lovers back then.

Thank goodness.

Moreover, Nadia also said that the pawns I've heard from the basement aren’t part of Cicada—that basically Nadia founded to reveal the dirtiness of the Organization N, which only means that those goons I heard when I was in the basement were the allies of the enemy.

And the Cicada consists of five members: Aki, Ms. Dolores, Hope, Mr. Navarro, and Nadia.

"Aki," I mutter. I can hear how sharp my voice is because this is probably the first time I've talked ever since I saw them.
