Felix's P.O.V

Her stance, the relaxed but firm grip on the weapon and exemplary movement. Imposing. She had already proven that she was better than most of our warriors. Her eyes caught sight of me - gawking at her - and offered a swift nod of her head as a greeting, hair swaying with grace. She turned back battling with the bag of sand she practices on, and with a few calculated blows of her sword, the sack tore open, spilling tiny, yellow grains everywhere. There she stood barely panting, in front of the tough material she destructed, in the middle of our main training ring encircled by rope and wire - where most soldiers trained.

'Y/N' - read her name label, each letter beautifully carved into the chunk of wood. She took a sip out of her flask, quickly flushing chill down her throat before facing me. A nimble bow.

Bells rang softly, butterflies fluttered around somewhere in my guts. Warm blood rushed to my cheeks. 'What is this feeling?' I questioned myself.

A hand deliberately waved in front of my eyes. The thick, mystic fog disappeared with the butterflies as I took in her face - as my heart stabilised itself at the fondness drowning it. I shook awake.

"Huh?" I shuddered out of the trance, Y/N just as confused as me.

"Y/N," I hesitantly began sputtering. The words kept tangling up inside and my tongue had no clue what to do. My feelings stood on one end of a bridge, and a king wanting to announce his army commander, stood on the other. Who would pass? Why does this have to be so strenuous?

I was standing there clueless, trying to keep my head clear. A miracle lurked near the door. The silver highlights - strands of which were braided into jet black locks - shimmered in the lights of the small, elegant lamps overhead. Two pieces falling near the corner of his eyes. A simple, yet dignified silver circlet rested above his eyebrows, the joint facing down, drew a straight line of shadow right through the middle of his face. Suave. I took in the cultivated movement of his muscles - visible through his tight, black leathers with silver bordering - as he strode towards us. An honorific bow, after he stood before me.

"I believe you wanted me to join you for a case. " He stated.

I cleared my throat, a slight nod my only response.

Our horses trotted in muffled silence through the stretch of the forest to what waited on the other end.

Vines of greenery hung from a colossal rock. Pushing away the hanging overgrowth, we let our trained horses roam freely in the forest beyond.

When we discovered this part of the forest – after the war – we had kept it a secret from the rest of the world. A place for peace – just me and him and the beauty of nature. Lotuses floated merrily in the ponds which looked like starlight swam on the surface – the trickling water – so peaceful. Weasels and sugar gliders busily hopped as we sat around a small fireplace.

We conversed until dusk. We hadn't shared so much lately, and he helped me get a lot out of my mind, great weights lifted off my back. I could never repay his kindness. It seemed like a suitable moment-

"Hyunjin," I began, his attention on me, closely watching my strange behaviour. "There's this person." I was comfortable around him, but when talking about her... I cleared my throat of nothing, my mouth dried up. "Y/N."

"Y/N?" His brows shot upwards, and he began fiddling with the fireplace when he realized how extra his reaction had been.

"Y-yes, so, I have been training her – personally - to join our forces." Why did he act so shocked? "Do you know her?"

He drew a long breath.
