Stupid love (chapter 20)

"What Happened last night" Katie asked me and Karl, noticing a difference as we walked to school. You can't hide anything from this girl.

"What happened with you and Riley" I asked and she went red.

"I'll answer that when you two idiots tell me what happened between y'all" she said. "I don't know what it is but something seems... different". I laughed lightly and held Karl's hand. Katie looked confused for a second.

"We're dating crazy" Karl eventually said, us both preparing for the exited scream that follows. (You couldn't prepare for that)

"OMG YOUR DATING, LIKE ACTUALLY DATING, HOLY FUCK FINALLY THE GAY IDIOTS AREN'T AS DUMB AS I THOUGHT" she screamed loudly and excitedly. I got a bit embarrassed as Karl started laughing.

"KATIEE" I yelled at her, seeing that literally everyone in the neighborhood heard. (She's loud as fuck).

"I'm sorry but just AHHH" she said screaming the last part as Karl struggled to breath from laughing. Even though he's known us for a few months, he's never seen Katie react like this. "The gay idiots finally got together with an I supposed to do"

"Not scream to the entire neighborhood".

"But it's just OH MY GOD" she said yelling out the last part. Then we heard a yell from a house from some old man.

"I GET YOU KIDDOS ARE HAPPY BUT DONT SCREAM AT 7AM, SOME OF US ARE OLD AND DONT GET UP UNTIL MAYBE 10" luckily the old man didn't seem mad and we saw his wife next to him laughing lightly and whispered something to him. (For those who wanna know: "remember when we used to be like that".)

"SORRY SIR, THAT WAS ME, IM EMBARRASSING MY FRIENDS FOR DATING" Katie yelled back and waved. The woman said something that we couldn't here since she was far away but I'm going to assume it was something good since they seemed very nice.
I was still red as Katie laughed at me. (For those who wanna know: "I'm glad kids can love who they want now, those boys seem happy together".)

"Why do you do this to me" I asked Katie as she continued laughing.

"Because it's funny" she said. "You went so red, your basically a tomato" I looked over to my boyfriend who had finally stopped laughing.

"Your mean to" I joked and he smiled at me.

"It was funny" he said. "You looked cute to"

"You'd always think that" I said back as we continued walking and looked at Katie. "You have any idea who that couple was" I asked curiously.

"I think there Riley's grandparents" Katie said. "When she was taking me home she pointed out either that house or the one next to it and said that's where they lived and she visits on some weekends and during the summer ".I've seen the couple before since it's a small neighborhood but didn't know who they were.

"That's probably them then" I said and asked. "Speaking of Riley, how'd y'all's date go" Katie went red.

"I-it wasn't a date"

"It was a date" me and Karl said at the same time.

"Well the 'date' was great, we spent most of it at the mall shopping and goofing around until we got kicked out" Katie explained excitedly. "Turns out bouncing balls around in the toy store is a bad idea"

"That's definitely a bad idea" Karl said and I agreed.

"Well after that she showed me this abandoned park she always goes to and we hung out there for a bit" Katie said happily. "It was really fun and turns out I'm more of a tomboy then she thought, and she was more girly then I thought" Katie continued. "After we went to Wendy's and ate there and then got a frosty, which are amazing even though you kinda need a spoon not a straw" she said/joked as she rambled. "We talked for a bit more and it was so much fun... Until I get back at 10 and got told off by my parents for how late it was"
