Family Road Trip

"One.....Two...Three..." Beidou said counting bottles of water.

"NINGGUANG, ARE YOU READY TO GO!?" Beidou shouted.

"JUST GIVE ME A SECOND" Ningguang shouted back.

"I'VE GIVEN YOU MULTIPLE SECONDS. IF YOU WANT TO GO TO MONSTADT, WE HAVE TO LEAVE NOW!"

"OK. Ok, I'm ready to go," Ningguang emerged from the bathroom in light clothes rather than her work outfit.

Beidou blushes at Ningguangs outfit.

"You look...Nice" Beidou almost studders

"Jeez Captain, it's just some outfit," Ningguang said in a rather seductive tone.

Beidou blushed hard, then turned her head away.

"Shut up"

Beidou started shoving clothes and the "necessities" as Ninggunag would call them.

"I'm gonna go get ready," Ningguang said, leaving the room to do her makeup

"Yeah, yeah."

"Toothpaste, check. Toothbrushes, check. Ningguang's books" Beidou grabs Ningguang's books from her dresser, "Check." "Now, am I forgetting anything?" Beidou said looking around the room.

"Welp." Beidou shrugged her shoulders.

Beidou pondered for a sec. She was doing this.

"We are doing this." Beidou thought.

Beidou was lost in thought when Ningguang came out of the bathroom with light make-up on.

"Beidou~" Ningguang snapped her fingers in front of Beidou's face. "Beidou!" Ningguang grabbed Beidou's face.

"Huh? Oh hi?" Beidou said.

Ningguang kissed her cheek, she noticed a slight blush on Beidou's cheeks. Ningguang grabbed one of the light bags and started walking to the door of their room.

Beidou slung her backpack over her shoulder. "I won't be needing that." Beidou thought while looking at her claymore.

Beidou exited the room with everything she needed and was met by Ningguang at the door.

"Ready to go?" Beidou said while grabbing Ningguang's hand, Ningguang nodded.

They started to walk to the jade platform that would lower them to ground level. The air slowly smelled like salty seawater. Beidou loved that smell, it smelt like home to her.

When the platform reached the ground, they started walking out of the harbor. Beidou was looked at by everyone that the pair walked by, she slowly let go of Ningguang's hand.

Ningguang noticed this, just as Beidou was going to let her hand fall to her side, Ningguang swiftly grabbed her hand and gave the staring people a cold smile.

"Don't let them get to you," Ningguang gave her hand a reassuring squeeze "Let them look all they want. My heart belongs to you, and you only."

Beidou looked at Ningguang with a smile, they continued walking till they were out of Liyue.

"Ningguang, you do know this would have been way faster by boat?"

"I'm very aware of that Beidou. I just wanted to spend time with you. Just you, not with your crew."

A soft "oh" came out of Beidou's mouth.

The sun began to set.

"It's getting late, we should find an abandoned Hilichurl camp to sleep," Beidou said looking in Ningguangs direction. Ningguang nodded.

Still walking, they were able to find a Hilichurl camp.

"Say Ningguang, up for a little fight," Beidou said while jumping and shaking her limbs.

"You didn't bring your claymore with you thought, how are you going to fight?" Ningguang said while summoning her book.

Beidou flashed Ningguang a bright smile while unsheathing two pocket knives. The smile that Ningguang knows is trouble.

"Just, Beidou. Be careful,"

Beidou's smile dropped into a smug face. Beidou dropped her bag on the ground.

"I'm always careful." Beidou ran into the camp, aggravating the Hilichurls inside.

Beidou began infusing her knives with electro while slashing at the Hilichurls.

Dropping her bag next to Beidou's, Ningguang started by throwing her jades at the monsters that Beidou carelessly forgot about. What Ningguang did not see behind her. An axe mitachurl ready to swing its axe at Ningguang.

"NING! WATCH OUT!" Beidou yelled while running towards Ningguang.

Beidou was able to push her out of the way. When they both hit the ground, Beidou's eyes were almost crying out in pain. Ningguang sent a few jades to kill the mitachurl. Beidou's breathing was heavy, she was holding something.

Turning her on her back, Beidou was holding her arm. Helping her sit up, Beidou flashed Ningguang a quick smile and told her not to worry about it.

Ningguang got up to get their bags, then returned to Beidou.

"I'm sorry I rushed in without telling you," Beidou lowered her head, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.

"It's fine, now you know what happens." Ningguang grabbed the medkit from her bag.

She grabbed a bottle of water and the bandages. Ningguang started by pouring the water on the cuts,

"Why must you always do careless things," Ningguang whispers a little too loud for Beidou to hear.

"Because I always have you to care for me," Beidou smirked.

Ningguang Wrapped the cut with the bandages. Beidou grunted in pain.

"Too tight?" Beidou nodded quickly, "Sorry." Ningguang loosened the bandage.

"There, all done," Ningguang finished by tucking the bandage in, and kissing her arm.

"It feels better already," Beidou said while flexing her arm. She stopped when it started to get sore.

Ningguang helped Beidou get inside the little tent. Ningguang gathered sticks, leaves, dry grass anything that will catch fire. She set the sticks in a tent shape with the leaves and grass underneath.

"Never knew you could build fires," Beidou said shuffling towards Ningguang.

"Living In poverty, I had to know the basic survival skills. How to fish, start fires, build shelter, and so on." Ningguang said with a frown. Beidou nudged Ningguang's shoulder

"But look at you now, Tianquan of Liyue, my wife," Beidou said to Ningguang while giving her a peck on the cheek.

Ningguang smiled. "Can you light this for me, dear?"

Beidou nodded, placing her hand by the tent made out of sticks. Little electro sparks came out of her hand. The fire had been lit. Beidou leaned her back on the wall with a sigh, she made grabby motions to Ningguang.

"Come...sleep please," Beidou said while continuing her grabby motions.

Ningguang gave in, and she found herself enveloped in a bone-crushing hug.

"Go-od...night," Ningguang said, barely being able to get that out.
