Everything after happened so fast.
I stared in horror as Renesmee's decapitated body crumpled to the floor.
Jane had killed her.
I looked at Jane with complete and utter shock, just before my attention snapped forward, directly ahead of me.
Bella was charging at us, her blazing topaz eyes locked on Jane.
I didn't have time to think.
So I didn't.
I threw myself forward, reeled my arm back, and slammed my fist into Bella's jaw. I summoned every ounce of energy I could manage and pushed it through my arm, through my fist, and into Bella's face.
Violent vibrations shot at full speed straight through Bella, blasting through her head as if she'd been shot at point blank range by a double barreled shotgun.
Millions of splinters and shards of her shot outward, and rained back down to the ground.
The room remained impossibly still as the rest of her fell to the floor.
There was no coming back from what I'd just done.
There was no way to undo it.
There was no way to make amends.
The end had arrived.
