Hey everyone! Just wanted to see if anyone would want a full story about Kate and (Y/N) growing up together/how they met Clint? I was thinking about doing something like that next,-Enjoy! :)

We finished eating our lunch in silence and I got them a cab back to their hotel. I decided to walk home, it would give me more time to think everything over. And by everything-I meant everything. Kate, Nat, Yelena, the glasses, Clint-my mom.

It's not like she was dead or anything-I think. I didn't really remember her that well, just that one day she was there and the next, she wasn't.

I could still remember the day I told her I wanted to be a hero, though. I had saved the neighbors cat from a tree, and I could still feel the sun burning on my back as I tried to climb up that tree, over and over and over.

I had finally made it up on the eighth try, I grabbed the cat and looked back down at the ground, realizing how high up I was. I sat up there holding the cat for what felt like hours. No one realized I was gone, or so I thought. I heard footsteps coming closer, I couldn't make out the person, but I could make out the figure-or at least, the colors it was wearing. A purple sweatshirt and black shorts.

"Katie!" I screamed, helping draw her attention up to the tree branches.

"(Y/N)? Your mom said you were out here-Why are you in a tree?" she stared up at me with her arms crossed, ready to make fun of me.

"I was saving Ms. Slyvester's cat..."

"You mean the mean neighbor who we don't like?" she cocked an eyebrow at me, even being young didn't stop her from being condescending.

"I know she's mean, but that doesn't mean her cat deserves the same treatment!" I held the cat closer to me, holding its chin up so Katie could look at it. She opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something, but instead just huffed and ran off. "Hey-don't leave me here!"

"Didn't plan on it!" she yelled back, running into the garage and grabbing a ladder.

It wasn't a very big ladder, considering we were only about 10 and she couldn't carry very much. I had to jump down a little, but in the end, I landed on the top of the ladder. I jumped down the rest of the way, which made Kate mad for about five seconds, that is until I let her hold the cat.

"Who's a good boy-girl?-cat. Who's a good cat?" she had been baby talking to the cat for five minutes before my mom came outside.

"Girls, have you seen the neighbor's cat?-Oh, there he is," Kate got up and handed the cat to her, then laid back down on the ground with me once again. "What were you two girls doing with this little guy?"

"Becoming heroes,"

"Starting our origin stories," I smirked at Katie after revealing our overlapping answers.

"Well, you two better get to training, cause it's gonna take a lot more than saving a cat from a tree to defeat..." she trailed off, spacing out looking at something in the sky.

"Mom?" I tilted my head and continued to stare at her while Kate followed her gaze to the sky.

"(Y/N)!!" Kate's scream felt like it rattled my brain, even with just the one word she spoke.

"Girls, get in the house"

"But mom what's that-"

"NOW" my mom interrupted me, picking me up off the ground and putting me on my feet.

The washed-out memory faded from my mind as I remembered Kate dragging me into the house and locking the door. That was really all I remembered from the attacks. But 2012 was a long time gone, wasn't it?

I put my glasses back on as I walked through the apartment door in silence, no one was home. Well, Kate was but I assumed she wasn't awake yet, and Clint was still at work or whatever it is he does. I locked the door behind me and hung up my coat-Kate's coat. I didn't have one, nor did I want one, and I figured she wouldn't mind if I borrowed it, and if she did, she'd never know.

"(Y/N)?" I heard a groan come from Kate's room and followed it, still knocking on her door before walking in.

"You called?" I opened the door, quickly shutting it behind me when I realized how dark it was in her room.

"Did I get rip-roaring drunk or something? Why do I feel like-well, shit," she smiled at me, finally picking her head up.

"Well, considering you can't even move your hair out of your face," I walked over to her, pushing her hair back behind her ear, "I'd say so." I smiled back, trying to pretend that I hadn't thought she was dead a few hours ago.

"Where's Nat and Yelena? I see you got your glasses back,"

"Oh-right," I reached for my glasses, taking them off and setting them on Kate's nightstand. "They uh, had to leave earlier than expected for-" the ringing of my phone in my back pocket cut me off. I took it out, trying not to sound too relieved. That is, until I saw who was calling. Natalia.

"Who's calling?"

"Oh-uhm," I turned the phone off and placed it face down on her nightstand, "nothing, just a spam call."

"Um-hum," she raised an eyebrow at me, smiling. I just stared back silently, admiring the way she looked, even though it was nearly pitch black in her room. "Stop that" she laughed, throwing a pillow at my face. I caught the pillow setting it down with an over-exaggerated look of shock on my face.

"Katherine Bishop, are you trying to start another fight?"

"Maybe I am," she still smiled back at me, making my stomach flutter a little.

"It's a shame you're gonna lose the fight you started,"

"Oh please, I doubt that."
