Chapter 34: Just Dance

Bethany's P.O.V

Loud music blasted through the corridors of Stark Tower, pulling me away from the book I was reading. 'Proud Mary' rang through the halls as I made my way to the games room. Once I entered I saw a sight I really wasn't expecting.

De was in front of the TV with a Wii remote in her hand, Thor was on one side of her and Clint was on the other side of her. Just as I entered the fast part of 'Proud Mary' started and the three of them began jumping around like mad.

Chuckling quietly I made way over to the sofa and flopped down beside Steve. "What are they doing?" I questioned.

"It was Deanna's idea, she wanted to dance and Thor was interested. I have no idea why Clint has joined in tho" Steve replied turning to me slightly and smiling. Nodding I watched them finish.

Thor and Clint collapsed onto the other sofa and De turned round with a smile. "Hi Beth!" She cheered before skipping over to the mini fridge and pulling out a can of Rockstar and two bottle of water.

She chucked the water to the boys and opened her can. "So what's got everyone dancing?" I questioned as De sat on the arm of the sofa next to the Hawk with a happy grin. The God chuckled deeply.

"Lady Chalmers was just showing me your Midgardian dances. I will admit it is most entertaining." Thor replied. I turned to Clint with a raised eyebrow. He looked at me over his water bottle and copied my action.

"What?" He questioned after downing the whole bottle of water which De rolled her eyes at.

"What got you dancing?" I questioned. He glanced at De who smirked behind her can with a mischievous glint in her eyes. Sighing he mumbled something under his breath making De's smirk grow bigger.

"I'm sorry what?" Tony asked leaning forward to hear him properly.

"De can be quite convincing" He muttered looking towards the floor.

"I didn't do anything." De said placing her can on the table beside her. "Who's up for round two? Monster Mash anyone?" Everyone groaned and De pouted slightly. "Pwese Clint!" She begged looking at him with puppy dog eyes.

"Fine!" He gave in standing to his feet. De cheered before standing up and throwing him a remote. The third she held in her hands before throwing it to me. Catching it I sighed and stood to my feet.

De giggled before started the song. Sighing again I began dancing and got incredible into it. At the end of it I collapsed next to Steve and Clint collapsed next to Thor again. Deanna mumbled something before turning off the Wii. Suddenly she collapsed to the floor.

Clint sat up straight and looked down at her. I didn't move and waited for her to say something or move, but she didn't. That caught my attention, her body never made a motion. "De?" I called tentatively. Her body didn't stir. "Shit Deanna!" I called scrabbling off the sofa and to my friends side.

Bruce was at my side instantly and checked her over. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. As he gently rolled her over I noticed a small burn mark on her left shoulder. It looked like a small shot from a blast, like a power source had hit her. "Ronnie" I muttered gently touching De's shoulder blade showing Banner.

"What has she done stunned her?" Clint asked as the others gathered round us. Clint knelt down next to me as Banner checked the wound. Banner sighed. "She should be fine, Ronnie has just knocked her out."

Clint carefully lifted her up and said "I'll take her to her room, I'll be back in a minuet" And with that he walked out with my friend in his arms.

"Damn Ronnie's getting stronger," Steve mumbled as he helped me up off the floor.

"We need to get you trained more and get our defence stronger. She attacked someone in the tower. Once De wakes up we have a team meeting," Stark said before stalking off down to the lab followed by Bruce.

Natasha went to check on De and Clint leaving me and Steve alone. "You okay?" He asked after a moment. I hummed and nodded before sitting down and zoning out thinking about what we do after De wakes up. Ronnie had become powerful and she had Loki on her side.

We were in for it but what we didn't know how big of a problem we were facing.
