In A Relationship With TXT Beomgyu

Prologue

Year 2024

"Why did you do it?"

I shook my head. I couldn't answer his question. Not because I didn't want to, but because there was no answer for what I had done. My eyes went to my high school friend and his group member Taehyun. He was frowning, conflicted whether to interfere or not. I shifted my weight from one foot to other.

"Sunbae-"

"Oh so I'm Sunbae now." Beomgyu rolled his eyes. "You think you're the only idol here? The one from a big company whose reputation is on a stake in this whole matter?" He threw his hands in air. "No. You're not. If you're from YG then I'm from HYBE too, and I won't tolerate it. I'll sue you-"

His leader, Soobin stepped in between us, coming in front of Beomgyu who was ready to step forward to confront me. "That's enough." His voice was calm, but he was also tensed. I bet a talk with him was coming in my way soon.

"Enough? She ruined my reputation!" Beomgyu sounded hurt, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I've become a circus because of you. You lied about everything and threw me under the bus." He stepped around Soobin who sighed not stopping him this time.

I straightened up as he glared down at me. My resting bitch face was on. I won't back down. It wasn't an option. Not anymore. "Sunbae, I didn't lie. I simply said I don't know you and that nothing is going on between us. I don't know-"

"You are really that kind of girl. Huh?" He stepped back. "Thank you for opening my eyes to your selfishness. I hope you live well and never come across my radar," he gritted out, a lone tear rolled down his cheek. "Goodbye, Ae-Cha. Wait, I mean Violet. I'll keep you as an example of what a person shouldn't be like."

Beomgyu walked past me. I didn't blink. Soobin looked back and forth between me and his member who had just walked out on us. At the end, he went to follow Beomgyu. Taehyun didn't. He came to me. I thought he would ask me the same question as his friend, why I did it and blah blah, but he didn't.

"No matter what your reason was, I won't ever forgive you for what you did to my friend." Taehyun patted my shoulder. "I'll choose him. Always. I'm choosing him over you, Ae-Cha, and I'm not sorry for it. I hope someday you wake up and realize how much wrong you were to give this response. Goodbye."

The silence behind them was loud, but comforting. I betrayed him, but saved something else. I hoped I won't regret it, but I knew I would. That was how life worked, but again Karma was a bitch. What goes around, comes around, they said, that it would hurt. I just didn't know it would hurt that bad.

Or that karma would come that soon.
