Ae-Cha: I hope your debute preparations are going well. All the best, pretty Miyoung.
Seen.
I locked my phone. There was no reply from my friend and it had been two weeks already. That night, I told her about TXT visiting Aroma and that she should be aware of it. I even told her the story of how Txt came to know about the hide out. About Beomgyu's saesang incident and all. I wanted to make sure that she knew I had no interest in Soobin or whatsoever.
"I understand." She had smiled and then left the restaurant, saying that she was preparing for her debute and was just passing by to say hi. Now she ghosted me. What was going on with her?
"Noona, look at the camera."
We were attending Kcon today in Los Angeles. My senior group Treasure was there too. I did a victory sign as I stood beside Yoshi. We had a bit of a distance between us since we were still idols at the end of the day. Didn't matter if from the same company. Since people had a habit of taking things out of context, it was better to be careful.
"And, smile guys." Jihoon lifted his phone to click the picture when I felt a movement in the corner.
Glancing to my left, my heart stilled for a second when I saw TXT coming in our direction. My eyes went over everyone, even over Taehyun and found Beomgyu, who was staring at me. Then his eyes moved to Yoshi, and I had no idea why but I stepped away from the guy. Jihoon paused and glanced over his shoulder to look at our seniors.
I and Beomgyu had been texting non-stop since that night. Months. It did not look like I was seeing him after months. We weren't stupid enough to risk meeting out again. But we talked almost every day or once or twice a week via texts or a phone calls. I bowed to TXT and so did Yoshi and Jihoon. Taehyun even stopped for a bit to wish me all the best for the performance.
I smiled and peeked at Beomgyu. He was walking ahead but his face was twisted so he was staring back at me. Our eyes met and I looked away, trying not to be obvious about the interaction. I cleared my throat and tucked my hair back as I went back to click the pending picture with Yedam.
"Ae-Cha." Jihoon came to me and frowned. "Are you sick?"
"No." Stay calm, Ae-Cha. Stay calm. "Why would you ask that?"
"You look flushed," Yoshi placed a hand over my forehead. We were closer in age, hence more comfortable with each other. "Do you want me to bring you a water bottle?" He asked, already lifting his hand to gesture the staff.
"No. No, I'm fine." I held his hand. "It's just heat. Don't worry," I assured, and glanced at Jihoon. "Send me pictures, I'll post them on Insta."
"People ship you two." Jihoon grinned. "You're going to feed the shippers. You know that, right?"
Yoshi smacked him on the back playfully. "Quit it. We're friends." His eyes flickered to me. "I hope he didn't make you uncomfortable?"
I chuckled and shook my head. "No. Jihoon isn't wrong, but my dear friend, let me give you an advice. If you make your friendship public, then there are less chances to get into a dating scandal."
"We're supposed to be seniors." Yoshi narrowed his eyes and was going to mess my hair out of habit from my trainee days but then stopped. "Ah... Won't want to trouble your hair stylist."
Shaking my head, I waved at them and went to the green room. Everyone was getting ready for the performance. Lavender asked me to harmonise with her and I agreed, practicing some steps as we sang some lyrics, warming up. Teal and Olive joined. Ruby was done with her make up and we all cheered up before going to the stage.
