24: Catalina?

Y/n's POV

After the talk with Dolores and Mirabel, we went down to the kitchen for dinner. Everyone was already there. I went to Isabela and Cleo. "Hey there, sister-in-law." I smirked. She rolls her eyes and pulled me for a hug. 

I turned to Cleo and gave him a teasing look. I nudged his shoulder. "You didn't tell me you were dating all this time." 

"Well, it is supposed to be a secret." he flicked a finger on my forehead. 

"How long have you been dating anyway?" I asked. He pulls her by the waist and Isabela chuckled. "Uh, 3 years?" he answered.

My jaw dropped. "T-three years??" he nodded. How come I didn't notice anything? "Wait-- so you've been meaning to tell me that you two have been secretly meeting each other?" 

"Mm-hmm, he sometimes have to pick me up and sneak out." Isa whispered. I just smiled in amusement. I can't believe these two were actually together. Does mom and dad even know about this? I'm confused as hell.

Cleo clears his throat. "So... how are you and Camilo doing? are you dating him?" 

I gulped. "For now, we're still taking things slow." I smiled sheepishly. Just then Camilo pops out of nowhere. He wraps his arms around my waist and smiles innocently.  "Speaking of..." I crossed my arms and gave him a side glance but the jerk ignored me.

"Come on folks, dinner's ready." he says before pulling me along with him. I sat between Camilo and Antonio. I smiled at Antonio beside me and he gestured for me to come close to him. "Let's play hide and seek later." he whispered. I nodded my head and we both chuckled.

But that was soon interrupted when Abuela spoke. She made her speech before everyone starts to eat. After a while, the proposal starts. I watch Cleo kneeling on one knee as he opens a tiny box with the engagement ring inside. In front of him was Isabela who was trying her best not to shed any tear yet.

"Isabela, we have been together, you have made feel more complete and have shown me the true meaning of happiness. That's why tonight, in front of you, our friends and our family, I, take you to be my partner. 
I can't wait to grow old with you and falling in love a little more every day. Will you marry me?" and with that, she nods her head in reply, unable to speak any more words. 

Cleo slips the ring through her finger and they embraced each other. Everyone clapped their hands and cheered, especially Mirabel, Luisa and Agustin, being a proud father. Mom and dad had joined the hug too.

While I was still sitting enjoying the moment, I felt a hand being placed on my thigh. I looked at my side and saw it was Camilo. "That will be us someday too." he says and wipes off his tears.

"Are you...crying?" I asked, trying to hold my laugh.

"Of course I am! I mean, just look at them." he says in between his light sobs. 

"God, you're such a crybaby." I chuckled and wiped off his tears using his ruana.

After the dinner proposal, all of us went upstairs except for the adults and Isabela and Cleo. They were talking about their plans for the wedding while we were playing hide and seek in Antonio's room. 

I can say it is a pretty big room for a 5-year-old. There were trees, different plants and animals. In the center was a big tree where I guess his bed is placed, there's a swing too. I wonder if he ever got lost in here. 

"You guys hide and I'll seek you out." Antonio says and we all agreed. It's not that we can argue about it, and besides, he knows his room better. Just in case someone gets lost.

He starts to count and everyone spread out to hide. I was about to find my own place to hide but Camilo pulled me by the hand, leading me a bit away from the others. We stumbled upon a plant with an enormously big leaves. He shove the big leaf away and there was a little cave hidden behind it.

We got inside and I sat on the side while he puts back the leaf to cover us. "It'll take a while for him to find us here." he says and sat right in front of me. The cave was a bit small but it was just right for both us to fit in. 

There was an awkward silence for a while and we were just staring at each other. For sure it was a bit dark but he still look so fine, although I seem to notice there was something bothering him just by looking at his eyes. 

He pursed his lips and was about to say something but then interrupted when we heard a hiss coming from the very dark corner of the cave. We exchanged looks at each other and then back at where the sound was coming from.

The sound became louder but it soon stopped. I sighed in relief but just as I did, a snake came charging at me. I froze in place. All I did was close my eyes and wait for it to bite me but I felt nothing. 

I opened my eyes and gasped when I saw Camilo holding the snake by the head. "Are you alright?" he asked with a worried look on his face. 

"I-I guess so...?" I looked back at the slithery snake on his hand. He looks at it and chuckled. "Oh, I guess Catalina scared you." 

"C-Catalina? it has a name??" 

"Uh, yeah, she's one of Antonio's pet. I forgot this was her place." he says as he pets it. I just sat there still in shock of what just happened. 

A five-year-old kid has a pet albino ball python??
