Danny Wood: Love of a Lifetime.

Home at last!

Amy And Danny arrived home and gave their girls and their boys and the grandkids everything they bought for them. the boys all helped Danny carry in the luggage and the girls all ran to greet Amy. They loved the fact they all had a new sibling coming. They caught up with everyone and told them stories of their trip and then they all sat down for a nice dinner and a movie as a family. The older kids all went home and the grandkids all went to bed. Amy fell asleep on Danny as they watched the movie. He looked over at her and stroked her hair and kissed her on the head as he finished the movie then he got up turned off the movie and then picked her up and carried her to their bedroom. He got her undressed down to her bra and panties and  got her under the covers then he to got ready for bed. Once he got into bed he laid there for a few minutes and stared at the ceiling just thinking. He was nervous about the pregnancy, he was happy but woried about Amy, he knew she was strong and knew she could do this but he had heard so many horror stories about things happening to women her age having a baby. I mean he was in his 50's she was in her mid 40's and they weren't exactly real young but they werent old either. He prayed then he slowly fell asleep as he wrapped his arm around Amy protectively and his hand rested on her stomach. The next morning the alarm went off and Amy got up and ran to the bathroom she was feeling the morning sickness coming on again and she threw up. Danny heard her ad he woke up and went in there to help her out. He held her hair back as she vomited and then he got her a wet washcloth and placed it on her forehead once she put her head back against the wall. Once they were both satified she was doing ok they got up and Danny got ready to go do his work out then he would come back and they could go to the appointment. Amy got out of the shower and got dressed. Danny came back after about a couple of hours and he took his shower and changed. They went and ate breakfast and then headed out to the doctor's office. once they got there Amy gave her name and they  called her back a short time later. Once the nurse got them into the room the nurse told Amy to change into a gown and she would be right back to take her vitals. Amy changed into the gown and then sat up on the table in the office. Her and Danny were having small talk when the nurse came back in and got the vitals. She wrote them down and told them that the doctor would be in soon. After a few minutes Amy's OBGYN Dr Grainger came in and talked to her and Danny then she had Amy laid back and she did the exam and listened to the heartbeat. She grew concerned for a few minutes. Danny became alarmed when he saw the look on her face. Doc.... is everything ok with my wife and child?  Dr. Grainger put her finger up to quiet him for a few minutes and she listened again. She got done and she looked at them. We are gonna order a ultrasound  to confirm what I have a feeling is there. So nothing is wrong, but Iam swear iam hearing two heartbeats, not just Amy's but 2 besides Amy's.Dr.Grainger said. Danny turned really white and felt like he might pass out. And Amycouldn't believe it either but she was the first one to  find her voice."Um.... are you telling us there might be twins???" Dr.Grainger shook her head yes it is possible and you didn't even have invitro youdid it naturally. So I want to confirm it and make sure I can give you the right due date and all. From what I read right now you are right at 5 weeks."Dr. Grainger told her then she continued." So what Ima gonna do is send you over there here in a few minutes and they can do it here in the office. And we can confirm then the tech will report back to me any other findings and they will be able to tell you if there are two in there. So hang tight and they will come get you. You can get dressed and then I will get you across the hall."  Amy and Danny both looked at her. "OK, thank you....I think." Dr.Grainger smiled." It will be fine.Amy you seem Healthy so we will continue to monitor you but you should do fine. I hope you have a full bladder cause you will need one for the ultrasound."  Amy smiled I do trust me on that." Dr.Grainger shhok her head and left the room. Danny looked at Amy," Twins?? Baby, are you gonna be ok?? I mean we were worried about one but two? I am gonna worry even more. But I will be there by your side all the way."  Amy smiled at Danny." It's gonna be fine....I'm gonna be ok. It is what it is. I know I have you by my side so I will be just fine. WE have a great support system." Soon the nurse came back in and then  escorted them over to the office where they do the sonograms. Amy and Danny waited. 'Amy sat uncomfortably cause she really had to pee. But soon they were called back and she got Amy on the table and had her lift her shirt up and then she put the warm gel on her belly and  began to move the dopplar around. She did a once over before saying anything. Danny and Amys eyes were glued to the screen. The tech spoke up. "Ah right there, you see those two little things right there? She said pointing. Amy and Danny shook their heads yes. Those are your twins. Congratulations there are two in there for sure."  Danny had a couple of tears run down his cheek he wasn't aware of his emotion. Amy had a couple of her own. Danny leaned down to kiss her. And with a shaky voice he smiled." I love you, there are our babies....wow, this is so amazing. Its been so long since i have had to come to one of these. Iam gonna be at every appointment.." Amy reached up and wiped a tear that was running down Danny's cheek,I love you too and we are gonna do this as a team.The kids aren't gonna know what to think." Amy told him.The tech went over a few other things with them then she wiped off Amy's abdomen and then gave them pictures and they were allowed to leave.The nurse at the desk said that Dr;Grainger called to set up another appointment so she gave Amy an appointment card. Amy ran to the bathroom when they headed out. She got there just in time. After she used the bathroom they left and  headed home to fill the kids in and Danny wanted to make them all some lunch while they discuss it. They arrived home a short time later. (To be continued)
