Danny Wood: Love of a Lifetime.

How It all Started

Amy was excited to get back home after work so her and her friend Miranda could go to the New Kids on the Block Mix tape concert. She was  a single mom of grown kids and a couple of them were adults and a couple of teens... the teenagers were off seeing their father for the summer and the older ones were busy with their own lives so she had asked Miranda her friend of several year to go with her. She hadn't been to a show in a couple of years and figured it was time to do so. Just as Amy was about to walk out the door she was stopped by her Boss, Candy Nelson. "Wait, where are you going? Candy asked her."I am off of work, I'm going home I have plans tonight." Amy told her. "Um... no, I need you to stay and work late on the Fenton contract, Jermaine  had an emergency at home, seems his dog is having her puppies and he had to get home." Candy said. " OK, so why does that mean I have to stay and work, there are several other employees that can do this, just as well as I can, and for that matter why can't you stay here? Amy wondered. "Well they all need time off and I do as well. "Candy said. "Oh whoa wait a minute. Let me get this straight I have to stay and work on Jeramine's project? No, I won't. I have been working nearly 6 months straight without asking for time off cause I wanted to get some things done so that when this night came I could go to the concert. I have worked late hours, and I have busted my tail for this place, WHICH, I helped to start by the way...I have plans that don't come around that often so I am going home and my friend and I are going to go do what we had planned to do for several months." Amy told her pensively. "If you don't do this project then  I am afraid I am gonna have to fire you, this is a multi million dollar event and you are one of the best Event planners we have....And no one else can do it. I am afraid I must insist you stay."Candy said being rude." Well, I am afraid that won't happen I am leaving and I will be back tomorrow." Amy said heading to the door. "Fine then you're FIRED!! Candy told her. Amy walked back and got right up in Candy's face. "I brought this place out of bankruptcy and saved your ass and your business and you can't even extend me this courtesy ,When I have been here every day for the last 6 months and have asked for no days off, and even worked weekends covering for everyone else? Just so I can have this moment of a lifetime. No thank you and you can't fire me cause I quit!! I never liked you anyway, you are a snooty bitch." Amy said as she walked out the door. Candy stood there open mouthed no one had ever talked to her like that. Amy got in her car and sighed as she started it up and headed home. Her friend Miranda was suppose to be waiting there for her so they could go right to the concert. Once she got there Miranda looked at her watch, You are cutting it pretty close is everything ok?  Amy looked." I quit my job today cause Candy wanted me to miss the concert just to work on a project for someone else and I have been working on other people projects plus my own for the past 6 months. She tried to fire me, I wasn't having it. Oh well I have wanted to start my own business anyway. Now might be the time. Anyway I will worry about that later, I have to get ready to see those 5 hot guys that we have waited so long to see.You look great by the way, let me go get ready to go." Amy went upstairs and got ready she came down a little while later and was dressed up and soon they were off to the Sprint Center for the night of fun. Meanwhile.... the buses began to pull into the Sprint Center Parking Entrance where the guys are suppose to go and each of them got off their buses. Donnie noticed that Danny was deep in thought. he walked over to him. "Hey man I noticed you have been kinda quiet lately are you ok? Danny gave Donnie a wan smile." I don't know man, I honestly don't know...I mean I have been divorced for awhile and I have been trying hard to find the next Mrs. Wood but I haven't had any luck,  I am beginning to think she isn't out there or that she doesn't exsist." Donnie patted him on the shoulder. He was single himself and knew what it was like not to have someone. "Man I get you, and I have felt the same way from time to time...but you know how I like to think Positive, I like to think I have a soulmate out there somewhere, and I bet you do to. She might pop up when you least expect it... you never know." Donnie assured his friend."Yeah, man you Might be right... Guess we better get in there and get ready for the meet and greet." Danny told him. Amy and Miranda parked and got out making sure they had their tickets and the passes and all they needed. Once they did they went to the doors and waited to be directed as to where they needed to go. Once they got where they need to go they waited their turn for the meet and greet. Only a certain amount of fans were allowed back there at a time and only for a minute or so to get them all through the line. Once Miranda and Amy got their turn they were excited. They hugged each of the guys, Donnie and Danny were the last one for them to hug. Miranda approached Donnie and he gave her a sweet smile and hugged her. Amy came up to Danny and he grinned. He thought she was cute and sweet, he gave Amy a hug and hugged her for a little longer then he was suppose to. Man did she smell good. He didn't want to let her go but he did cause he had to. He looked over at Donnie and pointed and mouthed. "She's cute." Donnie smiled and agreed that both girls were. Amy and Miranda exited the meet and greet and went to find their seats in the front row. They were in awe of everything it was such a big stage. Soon the lights went out and the other acts began coming out. Beginning with Tiffany, then Debbie Gibson, then Salt n Peppa and Naughty by Nature....then it was finally time for the New kids to come out. Every one cheered as the lights went out once again and once they came back on the guys were onstage. They began to sing their songs and dance around the stage. Danny saw Amy right in the front row and grinned at her and bent down to take her hand while they sang Valentine girl, Donnie took Miranda's hand. Then after a few more songs the guys went out into the audience and took pictures and things. Danny came over to Amy and whispered." What's your name, sweetie? Amy smiled and whispered back. "My name is Amy its nice to meet you Danny."Nice to meet you too." Danny said as they snapped a picture together. Donnie and the other guys were taking selfies as well. Donnie got a picture with Miranda. After awhile all the acts came on the stage and some did duets, and the final song of he night was a mashup of songs from all the artists there tonight. the big one was when they all did. "Push it" By Salt N Peppa. After that the concert was over and the guys went back stage. They had put on a hell of a show and were pleased with it. Danny sat down after grabbing a water and began looking at the photo's. He liked to look at them so he could decide what one's to post on his social media pages. he came across he one with him and Amy and he knew he needed to get to know her better. He needed to find out how to get in touch with her. But who was he kidding they were going to be leaving to the next city tonight so he wasn't gonna be able to. He sighed and then Donnie asked the guys if they wanted to go eat at the Waffle House...and they agreed. Meanwhile...Amy and Miranda had made their way back out to Amy's car. She sat there for a moment and looked at Miranda." Are you hungry? Cause I was thinking of going to the Waffle House for some food. Breakfast just sounds good to me this late at night." Amy said smiling."Sure I could use some food before we go home. Let's go! The girls headed to the Waffle house. The guys were there already when Amy and Miranda got there and the girls were standing in line waiting to be seated.The hostess came over and asked if they wanted a booth or a table. They told her they wanted a booth. So the hostess sat them at the booth and took their drink order after giving them a menu. They told her what they wanted to drink and the hostess went to get it. They didn't  know that the guys were sitting at a table within the view of them. Amy looked at Miranda. I need to use the restroom. If the hostess come back just order me a burger and fries or ask her to come back if you would please." Amy said to her." Yep I can no problem." Miranda told her. Amy had to walk by the guys table in order to get to the restroom she walked by there and Danny was looking around at people. Once Amy walked by him he nudged Donnie who was engaged in conversation with Jordan."Hey man, there she is, that Amy chick I was telling you about, She's here! "Danny said watching her walk into the bathroom.Donnie smiled at him. Then that means that her friend is probably here too. Why don't you meet Amy when she gets out of the bathroom and ask her if her and her friend would like to join us." Jon said to him."I might just do that. Now the rest of you can talk to her but no flirting cause you all are married. Except for me and Donnie." Danny joked. Amy got done in the bathroom and washed her hands and left out the door. Danny was waiting for her.Then when he saw her he got up and went to talk to her. Amy looked up and saw Danny coming toward her or she thought it was Danny. He came up to her. "Hi Amy, I was just wondering if you and your friend would like to join us at our table and eat with us and talk with us? " Amy thought she was dreaming and if she was she didn't want to be woken up.She didn't know how to answer him..Finally she found her voice." Uh, sure I bet Miranda would love that. So let me go tell her and I will be right back and thank you." Amy said touching his arm then going over to Miranda. She got over to her table. Miranda you won't believe this, but I was coming back from the bathroom and Danny Wood, who is here with the rest of the guys, invited us, you and me, to their table to eat with them! "Amy said calmly but excitedly. Miranda gave her a goofy look. "Are you serious? You can't be serious... Amy picked her things up and then told Miranda "Come on let's go over there." On the way over Amy found the waitress and told her they had been invited to another table and asked if she could just bring the food over to the other table and let her know what table they were gonna be at.Amy drug Miranda over there, Miranda couldn't believe that Amy was not joking she smiled and the guys stood up and Danny pulled out a chair for Amy and Donnie pulled out one for Miranda. Danny introduced them to the rest of the guys." Guys this is Amy, and this is her friend Miranda and you ladies know the rest of the guys. "Danny said."Yes we do, nice to meet all of you." Amy said shaking their hands. Donnie looked at Miranda so.... you seeing anyone? Miranda smiled and said.Nope, Amy and I are both single ladies....but she has kids I don't."  Miranda said trying to give Danny hints. Amy smiled." Yes, I am a single mom of 4 kids, 2 of them are adults and 2 of them are teenagers and I have a grandson. My teenagers are visiting their dad for a few months back home." Amy offered. Danny smiled." Wow, I am a grandfather too and as you probably know I have kids as well. That is awesome that we have that in common. I think I want to know more about you as we all eat." Danny said as Amy filled him in about herself since he was asking her questions and Donnie was talking to Miranda....then soon the whole table was engaged in conversation and laughs it wasn't really busy in there that time of night. After they were done eating, It was time for the guys to go.it was hard for Danny to pull himself away from Amy. He got up slowly." So is it ok with you if I get your phone number?"  Amy smiled. "I will be glad to give it to you, as long as it isn't one of those things where I give it to you and then you decide I wasn't worth calling back." Danny shook his head."Oh no I am to old for games like that I will call you and then if we hit it off we can even start face timing or something. I would love to talk to you more and see where things go." Danny said being serious. Amy shook her head and wrote down her number and handed it to Danny.I really hope to hear from you soon." Amy replied."Oh trust me you will hear from me... is it ok if I give you a hug before you go? It might just make my night." Danny gave her a hug and  had a hard time letting go but knew he had to."Come on Danny we gotta go man." Donnie told him still smiling at Miranda.Amy hoped Miranda and Donnie had hit it off to that would be nice. Also the guys were nice enough to pay for dinner for the girls as well. "Bye guys and thank you for the wonderful concert tonight and the conversation, and for paying for our meal. And Jon, Joe and Jordan I hope to get to meet your significant others sometime soon.Nice to meet you." Then Amy and Miranda slowly walked out the door not wanting the night to end. They got out to the car and got in and drove off...this was truly an awesome night....they couldn't wait to see what was next. Danny and the rest of the guys got back on their buses. Danny couldn't seem to get Amy out of his mind. He wanted to talk to her and maybe ask her on a date. He was gonna check with Jared to see if they had some time before they went to another city so that he could as Amy out. He texted Jared and asked him and Jared told him that they did. That made Danny smile. So he picked up the phone and dialed Amy's number. Miranda and Amy had just pulled into the driveway of the house when Amy's phone rang. She picked it up." Hello?"  Hey, Amy it's Danny I was thinking about you and  I found out we really don't have to be in he next city till late tomorrow night and I was wondering if when you wake up if you would like to have a breakfast date with me, and then maybe Lunch and dinner also? " Amy was grinning even though Danny couldn't see it. She was beaming." Wow, I honestly didn't think you would really call me. I am so glad you did and sure I would love to.It sounds like fun. "  Danny was pumping his fist in the air and smiling at the fact she wanted to spend time with him. He hoped maybe this would go somewhere. He wanted to know so much more about her and he didn't feel like they had enough time to really talk to each other at the Waffle House."Great, well while I have you on the phone...do you have an recommendations on Hotels we could stay at over night? We don't know where to park the buses otherwise." Danny asked hopeful she could tell him."Well it just so happens that I just quit my job as a top Event and Party planner to start my own business and I might know of a few places." Amy told him sweetly." Why don't I text you some info on a couple of places and see how they work out. You can give them my name and you should be good to go." Amy told him."Aw, Thank you so much and I would love to know more about what you do when we have our date tomorrow. Anyway I have to get some sleep so I am gonna look this list over and call them to get reservations." Its been great talking to you again. Talk to you tomorrow." Danny said reluctant to hang up the phone. He sighed with delight as he made some hotels reservations for him and Donnie the other guys were gonna  go to the next city and just stay there for a couple of days. Soon Donnie and Danny checked into the hotel and went to the rooms and slept. Amy slept peacefully as well.
