"You know, it would be our homecoming today if we were in obx." Sarah said. JJ, John B and Sarah were sitting on their self-made boards in the sea while others were still sleeping.
"Aw, look at the homecoming queen missing high school bullshit." JJ said sarcastically pouting.
"Is it a crime to miss simple times?" Sarah said, turning to John B.
"Don't listen to him. He's just mad 'cause he never had a date to go."
"Wow." JJ smiled. "You really said hoes before bros, huh?"
"Oh, so that's a lie?" John B turned to JJ, raising his eyebrows.
"I've never had a date, because homecomings are lame as shit, so are the girls who would ever want to go."
"Hey!" Sarah shouted while splashing some water over at JJ. "It's a cute tradition, Mr. Outcast. You would know if you ever went to one."
"Well, sweet Sarah. Bad thing we're stuck in Poguelandia. So maybe next time, if i can free my schedule from boat invasions and deserted islands."
"Okay so you're having a grumpy ass morning and I know exactly why but let's save that for another day, shall we, sweet JJ?" Sarah said, smiling sarcastically.
"So..." John B said coming between them. "Why don't we have a little homecoming ourselves, for the people of our dear Poguelandia?"
"What are you talking about?" Both JJ and Sarah turned to John B with smiles on their faces.
"Why not?" he continued. "We obivously have some tension building up, and we have all the time in the world, so why not chill a little and have fun?"
"Oh you're serious serious..." JJ said.
"Come on, JJ." Sarah turned to him with a smile on her face and winked. "I promise I'll set you up with a date." JJ laughed.
"Alright then. We already have our queen and king set, right?"
"We'll let the people decide." Sarah said smiling and began to push her board towards the shore. JJ and John B followed her.
" Should we wake them up?" asked JJ, turning back to Pope, Cleo and Kie when they made it to the beach.
"Pope and Kie came back pretty late." Sarah said. "Maybe we should let them rest for a little while."
"Sure, sure." JJ looked away and took a deep breath. So they came back late, he already thought that, it wasn't even a problem. But why? He couldn't stop thinking about it, what were they talking about, what were they doing? Maybe they still had something going on, and JJ was just a hopeless idiot who misunderstood everything.
They started the "preparations" while waiting for the others to wake up. They made a wreath out of the flowers they found, and two seats from pieces of wood. JJ even carved "Homecuming 2021" on a wood with his knife. When he showed it to John B and Sarah, they couldn't help but started laughing.
"What?" JJ asked looking at his art project. "I don't have a nice handwriting, so what?"
"Nothing, J. It's perfect." John B answered.
"Good to see you so invested." Sarah kept smiling.
"Invested in what?" Pope came next to them, he was rubbing his eyes trying to wake up.
"Look at it dude!" JJ said, shaking the sign in his hands. "We're organizing a homecoming! Tickets are 20 bucks."
"Wait..." Pope said. "Am I still dreaming?"
