Ruv was taking a little too long to make drinks for us. I eventually got impatient, and left the library, making my way to the kitchen. I expected to see Ruv in the kitchen, getting water or something, but he was no where in sight. I furrowed my brows, and frowned, visibly confused.
I walked to the main church room, peaking through the cracked door. Sarv's mass was still in progress, and I didn't want to interrupt by asking her anything, or going into the room. I pulled the door shut, making a mental note that Ruv was not in that room.
I continued throughout the house, struggling to find where Ruv had went. He planned to translate the book for me, and just vanished. I was somewhat annoyed because of this. I was genuinely interested in the language, and he left me in the library alone, with no way of getting more information. It's like leaving a newborn with a dictionary, and expecting it to read the entire thing.
The last room in the house I hadn't checked was the bedroom. I wouldn't have expected him to be in there if he was. It seemed as if the bedroom was the least visited room in the house. Or at least that's what I thought. It might of been because of my recent appearance in Sarv and Ruv's life.
I held my breath, and opened the bedroom door, as if this was an extremely stressful situation. I might have overreacted a little bit. The door creaked, and I peaked into the room. No one was in there. Ruv was no where to be found. I hadn't checked outside yet. He could be out there. I was determined to get him to translate this book for me.
I was glad that there was a door in the house part of the church. I exited the house, glancing around the area. The only things in sight were flowers, grass, trees, and an endless field. This church really was on the outskirts of the town. I turned around to face the church, and looked at the glass window, that held a cross. It was a pretty pink color, and I never really payed attention to it.
A few feet above the cross, was the roof. Something on top of it caught my attention though. I saw a patch of gray, so I looked up. I squinted my eyes, struggling to see what it was. It moved, and revealed itself a bit more. I gasped, and my eyes shot open.
Ruv was on the roof.
I ran closer to the church, keeping my eyes on Ruv the entire time. His facial expression held defeat. He was sitting on a slanted part of the roof, and looked like he could slide off at any moment. The closer I got, the anxious feeling that he would land on me grew stronger. I tried to push it away, seeing as it was extremely unlikely.
"What are you doing up there?" I called up to him. It was hard not to shout, since he was so far away. He placed his hands in his pockets, having full faith in his position on the roof. It just made me more anxious though. Him falling would definitely be a whole 'nother thing.
"Well.." He started. He looked away, and didn't continue. I waited, but no response. I frowned, and placed my arm above my eyes, since the sun was right above him. I squinted my eyes, barely being able to focus on Ruv now.
"Can you at least come down from there?" I asked. I saw his expression change to an annoyed one. He scooted closer to the edge of the building, so I backed up. Was he really planning to just slide off of the roof? I get that he was tall, and could most likely land the fall without an injury, but from my perspective, it was a death wish.
In an instant, Ruv slid off of the roof, and landed on the ground. He was in a crouched position, and held his Ushanka on his head with his left hand. He outstretched his body, standing up. He mumbled something to himself, but I couldn't hear it. Didn't really want to at the moment.
"Now." I started. I was interrupted right as I was beginning. "I was up on the roof because that book I showed you, was also fake." He grumbled. I was a bit surprised with his response. Why would he lie?
