The Solomons family were gathered in the boudoir. Ollie, Albe and Louis were sat on the tea table chairs which they had dragged closer to the sofas.
Sarah and Malka were sat on one sofa opposite from Abigail and Bina's sofa. Yasmin and Ora were playing hide 'n' seek with one another in the long drapes at the windows.
"You are getting so big now Abigail, when are you due?" asked Sarah with a smile.
Abigail looked down to her enormous bump and ran her hands over it.
"Any day now I should imagine." she replied.
"What do we think, boy or girl?" Sarah asked the room.
"Ishmael would like a boy I think." Abigail answered, "but I'd be happy to have another girl." she said, looking over to the one month old baby girl in Bina's arms.
Ollie was sat next to Bina on his chair, reaching over and stroking the baby girl's face.
"Little Matilda is beautiful." admired Abigail.
Bina and Ollie smiled and cooed over their first born.
Malka lit a cigarette and everyone looked to her.
"Where's Alfie?" Bina asked.
Just as Malka opened her mouth to answer, Alfie strolled through the open doorway into the boudoir.
"There he is!" cooed Sarah with warmth and joy.
She jumped up and went over to Alfie as did all the lads.
"Where have you been hiding him?" she asked.
Alfie smiled as they both looked at the sleeping new born wrapped in a warm blanket in his cradling arms.
"Not hiding him, just a trip to the little boys room."
The lads crowded around all wanting their fill of the newest member to the Solomons' clan, Alfie and Malka's son.
"Sorry Bina, you know how boys get." said Malka, embarrassed they were showing greater attention to her son.
"No, don't be silly. Your boy is only eight days old and the prince of the family."
Malka scoffed as she sat shy in her diamond tiara.
Edna entered the room.
"The mohel has arrived Sir." she confirmed to Alfie.
Alfie nodded and then looked down at his sleeping son in his warm arms.
"Sorry son, but needs to be done."
He then looked around the boudoir with a heavy brow.
"Where's Ishmael?"
"He'll be here shortly." said Malka, standing up and walking to her boys.
"Come on Alfie." she said wanting to take their son from his arms, but he was reluctant.
"Won't be for long." she said holding her cradled arms against his.
After a heavy sigh, Alfie carefully handed his son over to his wife.
"Ya got him?" he asked, checking everything about Malka's hold.
"Yes! Alfie." she chuckled.
He kissed his son on the head as Ishmael came up the stairs behind him.
"About bloody time." Alfie said, as he turned to Ishmael entering the room.
