I looked out the window. The rain had stopped, but it remained cloudy. This weather is really depressing. I wanted to understand why the killer was after us. I've been wondering that since the first murder. I looked at Mr Schmidt, he seemed to have been completely thrown off track, but that was understandable. We're his first class and he's known us since seventh grade. We were all so happy because it's our graduation trip and also our first class trip and now something like that happening. He's probably also blaming himself for saying he should have been more careful. "Hey, what are you thinking about?" Fabi wanted to know. "About all sorts of things," I said. "Do you want to talk about it?" "Not right now. Thanks anyway," I said. "Can I ask you something?" I asked him. "Of course," he said. "Do you think we'll get home alive?" I asked him. "I won't promise you anything I can't keep, but I will do everything to make sure you get home alive. So let me protect you, okay?" he said. My heart felt warm. "We'll both get home alive, okay?" I asked. "Promise," he said, smiling. "Little finger oath?" I said and held out my little finger. He replied. I looked into his beautiful green eyes and at that moment I thought everything would be fine. "Well, what are you two beauties doing so nicely?" Katy wanted to know. "Nothing" said Fabi. While we talked it began to get darker outside.

When Vladimir came with dinner, no one ate anything as everyone was still scared about what happened at lunch. I also have to say that it wasn't until the class trip that I realized how quickly your life can end. I didn't want to imagine how my friends and family would fare if I was killed. Just that thought gave me goosebumps. I looked at the others. I really liked that Leon was sitting a little apart from the group. He looked a little absent and seemed to be thinking. That's how he's been since we left. And Amelie looked really exhausted. She sat down in front of the fireplace and also seemed a bit absent. I can understand her being so upset, I mean, she and Sofie were like sisters and they both had a fight just before she died and couldn't reconcile. "Shall we go upstairs and brush our teeth?" said Mr Schmidt. We nodded and went upstairs to a bathroom. It was pretty narrow, but I was a little less afraid that way.

When we were done, we went downstairs and lay down. I rolled over. "Can't you sleep?" Fabi asked in a whisper. "I'm scared," I whispered back. He scooted over to me and took me in his arms. "Are you okay with that?" he whispered in my ear. "Yes, thanks," I whispered back. I inhaled his scent. He smelled kind of good. I felt so safe and secure in his arms and fell asleep quickly.

From Leon's point of view

I've been thinking all day and made up my mind that I would get help tonight. I would wait for everyone to sleep as I'm afraid someone would try to stop me.

When I made sure everyone was asleep, I quietly crept out of the drawing room. In the entrance area I put on my shoes and jacket. I pulled my flashlight out of my jacket pocket. Then I opened the castle door, went out and closed it very quietly.

When I was outside, I breathed in the cold night air. Somewhere I heard an owl. The wind rustled through the leaves of the trees. The wind had picked up. I went to the edge of the forest.

When I stood in front of it, I was already feeling a little grumpy. I wondered if that really was a good idea. The forest was really dark, so I decided I would give it a go. Before I changed my mind, I entered the forest. Somewhere a bush rustled and there was a crack. I took another deep breath and walked on. In the distance I saw a light from a lantern. Something was moving. "Hello is someone there? Please I need help" I called. The light went out. There was someone, definitely and whoever it was they had their lantern out. I ran to where the lantern light went out. The person was gone. I looked around and noticed that I was lost. Wolves were howling somewhere. I swallowed nervously. "Don't lose your nerve," I encouraged myself and walked a little further. I heard a growl in the dark behind me. Out of instinct I started running because I was afraid of the wolves.

When I turned around, I saw a pack of wolves behind me. I kept running, but the wolves caught up with me. One bit my leg and tripped me. I groaned in pain. Another bit my arm. Their teeth dug deep into my flesh. The pain paralyzed me and at that moment I cursed my plan. The next moment an animal jumped on my back and I could feel the beast's hot breath as it bit my neck. My neck cracked ... and it got dark.
