Thanks to the tea, I started to feel better. For lunch, Fabi and I joined the others. "It's nice that you're feeling better," said Katy. "Yes, thanks Fabi and also thanks for being with me earlier," I said and hugged her briefly. I know Katy and I don't hang out like we normally do, so I hope when we're out we'll spend a lot of time together again. "I'm so glad you're my best friend," I said to Katy. "Me too, but what makes you think that?" she asked in surprise. "I was just thinking about the time before the class trip and that we've been a little apart since the class trip," I explained to her. "Yes, that's true, but I'll stay with you until tomorrow and after that," she said and smiled mildly.
I looked at Mr Schmidt, he looked tired, I felt sorry for him, you could tell that this situation was really bothering him. "Fabi and Amy, after lunch we'll go and pack our bags, including those that have left. It would be nice if you would help us," said Mr Schmidt. We nodded.
For lunch there was... if I'm honest I really didn't know what it was and the looks of the others told me that they didn't know either. "This is Musaka cu Tatei, it's a dish from Romania," Vladimir explained. "And what is it?" asked Paul, who, like us, is not master of the Romanian language. "This is minced meat casserole with pasta and cheese, so you can eat it with peace of mind," explained Vladimir.
I only ate a little because I didn't really like it. Katy next to me felt the same way, because she didn't eat much either, and her look betrayed her true feelings. "I also made a typical Romanian dessert," Vladimir said enthusiastically. "There's Papanaşi, it's from the south-west of Romania," Vladimir said. "And what is that?" asked Mr Schmidt, visibly interested. "These are made from dough or curd dough. There are many different variants that can be classified according to the method of preparation into the categories boiled curd cheese dumplings and fried curd cheese dumplings. Me I chose the fried pot dumplings," said Vladimir. I chopped off a small piece with a fork and popped it in my mouth. It didn't taste bad at all.
After lunch we went to the salon and packed our bags. "Fabi, do you still have the bag with the book in it?" I asked him quietly. He nodded and inconspicuously patted himself on the spot. Well, it was safe with him. I put my on top of the suitcase what I'm going to wear tomorrow. "Amy, shall we pack Sarah, Lisa and Laura's suitcases?" Katy asked me when she saw that I had finished with my suitcase. "Yes," I said and went to her. It hurt a bit, because I was thinking about the three of them and their death was not deserved. It will certainly be difficult for Mr Schmidt to explain that to their parents, since he was responsible for us.
After about two hours we were done packing our suitcases. We put Sarah, Laura, Sofie, Christin, Leon, Amelie, Thomas, Markus, Julian and Lisa's suitcases in the entrance hall. We also moved the mattresses, blankets and pillows to the previous rooms. We were five students and Mr Schmidt.
This is so frightening, especially since there is no trace of many. What if they are still alive? They could be injured somewhere and no one is looking for them anymore. Or they are defenceless at the mercy of the murderer. Leon, Thomas, Julian and Lisa are the only ones we don't know where they are and if they're still alive.
"What are you thinking about?" Katy asked me. "Where are Leon, Thomas, Julian and Lisa and are they still alive?" I asked. "As harsh as that may sound, the most important thing now is that we get home safely tomorrow. Even if it's difficult for you, since you're more concerned about the well-being of others than your own," Katy said. "Yes, I know. Still, what if we could or could have helped them?" I said, with a hint of concern in my voice. "Amy, you are such a sweetheart," she said and hugged me.
"Group cuddling without me?" an outraged Fabi asked us. We turned to him and broke away a little so that he had room for the hug. We laughed happily and light-heartedly, just like in the old days. I couldn't imagine a life without them. It would break my heart if either of them wouldn't have got out of here alive. I'd rather die than lose either of them, even if they wouldn't let me.
"I love you so much," I said into the hug. I was really the smallest of the three of us. "We love you too," said Katy and gave me a kiss on the cheek. "Hey, she's my girlfriend," said Fabi with a light laugh. "But she's my best friend. Right, little one?" she said laughing. "You two are important to me and I don't want to have to choose between you," I said, kissing them both on the cheek.
