It has been exactly three years since Aether and Xiao were first married. They were deciding if they should have a baby, and the two both agreed on yes. One decided that getting drunk on his lover's birthday was a good idea (it was not a good idea at all. RIP Aether's ass 😔☠️). He apologized for it, but the other didn't mind at all. After all, they wouldn't have their bundle of joy without that day.
Now he is outside the hospital room, pacing back and forth, waiting to see if his husband is okay. With each passing minute, Aether screamed out Xiao's name out of habit, making it harder for Xiao to restrict himself from teleporting inside. "It's normal for child birth." He replayed in his head. The more time the blond spent screaming, the more worried his lover was getting. Eventually, Zhongli arrived to help calm down Xiao's nerves. He brought tea, some noise canceling magic thingies, and a small gift for the two of them when the baby is delivered and healthy.
"Morax, what are these things?"-X
"They are called noise canceling headphones. I found some in the harbor yesterday when shopping with the Director. When you called me saying that the traveler was giving birth, I thought to bring these so you wouldn't worry and restrict yourself from teleporting in."-Z
"How do they work? They look weird."-X
"Just put them on, Xiao."-Z
The raven did as he was told as Zhongli pressed play on something. Calming rain sounds and the sounds of the wind were all that was needed to put Xiao to sleep. He looked so peaceful in that state.
Once the delivery was finished, Zhongli took off the headphones and tapped the raven awake. As soon as he saw his former master go inside, he followed. In the middle of the room was his beautiful husband, laying down with a small baby sleeping wrapped in his hands. Xiao kissed him on the head, waking up the blond. He weakly smiled at him and Zhongli.
"It's a girl. A baby...girl."-A
"Are you okay? Don't tell me the doctor said you aren't gonna make it!"-X
"Tired."-A
Xiao nodded as he kissed the baby on its forehead. She perked her head up to get a closer look at her father and giggled. It made the raven and the blond remember something that happened almost five months ago, when Aether was more hyperactive then before. Xiao sat down in a nearby chair, and played the thought through his mind.
Flashback
Aether giggled as he hid in the closet, playing hide and seek with his lover. Sure they were adults, but they needed this reminder of childhood. The baby was kicking harder when Xiao got closer to the door, and it hurt. She was a strong baby indeed, but it was bad timing when Xiao found him from a small whimper that escaped his mouth. More followed, as Xiao put his hand on the blond's stomach.
"You okay Aether? We can stop playing if you want."—X
"Nooo, I wanna keep playing! Ow~ the baby kicks so hard!"—A
"It's a strong one indeed. Come on, let's get you to bed."—X
