Chapter 16

Driving to the restaurant I actually feel pretty good. “I am so excited to go to this restaurant, It's one of my favorites!” Sara giggled. I looked out the window and saw all the shopping centers that I know Sara will want to go to one of these next few days. As we slow down I look out Sara’s window and I think we are here. Someone opens my door and I look up as if I was going to see someone else but nope just the valet. I move to get out of the vehicle and walk over to find Sara and her parents. I look up at the restaurant that we are at and see the big name on the front. “Smoke House”. 

“You're going to love it, Kels, you get to watch them cook everything in front of us.” I smile because I see how excited she is about this and go to walk in with them. It smells delicious here. I can smell everything from smokey to sweet and it makes my stomach make noises. We are seated towards the back of the restaurant and the waiter comes over. “Good evening folks and welcome to The Smoke House. What can I get you to drink tonight?” I look up at him and notice he's kind of cute in a surfer boy kind of way. Everyone around the table gives him their drink order and when he gets to me I have no idea. 

“Is there anything that you would suggest?” I look up at him and notice that I blush a little. “Well we do a Mai Tai that other customers swear by, How about we start with that?” I nod and smile at him. He walks away and I realize that I didn't even get his name. “You were totally flirting with him, Kels. You go girl!” Leave it to Sara for being a wing woman. “I was not flirting with him but he was kind of cute.” We giggle like two little school girls. After we get our drinks and order our food we talk about school, life and what we are doing after college. Her parents have always been supportive of Sara but what's great is they give that same energy towards me. After the chef comes out and cooks the food and we eat it all down, I am so full. 

“That was the best meal that I have ever had.” I say and I mean it. We never got to do things like this when I was younger. “We will have to come back here again before we leave.” Sara said to me way too excited. “I have to go use the restroom, do you know where it is?” Sara’s mom was first to answer. “If you go towards the back that way it's the second door. I believe that it says ladies room on it.” I go to get up and turn. 

“Thank you, I will be right back.” I walk through the room, zig zagging around other tables and people. As I make it to the doors I try to look for one that has Ladies on it but I don't see it. “It's the second one right there.” I turn and see the waiter that we have standing behind me. “Thanks, I was afraid that I was going to end up in the mens room.” I go to walk in the door but turn around real quick. “Hey, What is your name, I think I missed it at the table?” He smiled and pointed to the badge on his shirt. “Romeo.” Now why didn't I think to look for a name badge. “Thanks Romeo.” I walk into the bathroom and go to the stall to do my business. When I was about to pull my panties up I heard the door open and heard a click. When I walk out of the stall the lights go out. “What the Fuck?” I put my hands out in front of me and try to search for a sink or something but instead I run into something hard. Before I know it there is a hand around my neck and pinning me to the wall. 

I try to fight off the large person but I don't have the strength to. “Hello Kelsey, I need to ask you a few questions. One. Do you know what happened to your mother?” I freeze because this has to be one of Os’s fathers men. I quickly shake my head no because I don't know if Os was supposed to tell me all the stuff that his father did. “Good, next question. Are you in a relationship with Osvaldo?” What the fuck does that matter to this guy? Again I shake my head no but his grip remains tight on my neck and I can feel myself starting to get dizzy. 

“Good girl. Last question. Are you going to remember anything that has happened here right now?” I hurry up and shake my head hoping that he will release me and he does. He takes me and puts me in a stall and all I can do is sit. “When the lights come back on you can come out but not until then.” Before I know it the lights come on and I hear the door open and close. I can feel the tears coming to my eyes but I can't say anything about this so I try to bring myself back to reality. What the fuck just happened? When I walk out of the stall I walk to the mirror and notice I have some red marks on my neck. 

“Fuck” I take my hair down and put it over my schoulders. I walk out and back to the table but am very cautious when I walk back. I keep looking around the room to maybe Identify who that was but have no luck. “Took you long enough Kels, are you ok?” I turn and look at Sara trying to mask my face. “Yea I'm ok, just jet lag.” After her parents pay the bill we start to head towards the door. 

“Hey there, I wanted to give you this.” I turned to see Romeo standing in front of me with a piece of paper. I opened it and noticed that he just gave me his number. If it was any other time I would have been flattered but now I just don't know about it. “Oh thanks, Maybe I'll give you a call sometime.” I say as nice as I can but hope he gets the message. We walk out and get into the car and head back to the house.
