I can't believe it. It's really him standing there in front of me. “Hello Kelsey, look how grown up you have become. You look just like your mother.” He said as if it has only been months but in fact it's been years. “You're not allowed to say stuff like that to me. You weren't around.” I am beyond pissed. Os and Octavius put their hands down and I see Sara slowly creep in behind us. She goes over to Octavius. “I would like to talk with my daughter if you all don't mind.” He looked around the room to his men and they started to walk out of the door. He looked right at Octavius and Sara.
“We are just going to her room. This is her home, we are not leaving it.” Octavius demanded. I have never heard him be so firm before. “Fine.” My father gestured to the hallway behind him. “I want to talk with my daughter alone Mr. Riggs.” I looked from Os to my father and noticed that Os had a grip on my hand. I didn't even realize he grabbed it. “He can stay, Whatever you have to say to me he can hear.” I say so that we can get on with this. My father moves over to the chair near the window which allows him to see the whole room. Os takes me over to the couch that's across the way. I don't like that our backs are to the door but I have to trust that my father would not hurt me.
“Why are you here now? What do you want from me?” He looks from me to Os as if wondering why I'm asking that question. “Obviously Mr. Riggs has not enlightened you on the business that I am in yet. Allow me then. I am a hitman and have been for a long time. Over that time I have made a lot of enemies which is understandable. Either way when I left you and your mother I was responsible for a job to take care of a woman. When I found out whose wife she was and that she was a mother I could not take the job. That was always one of my stipulations, no kids and no mothers.” I looked at Os and can tell he's getting upset by the way his face is changing and he is gripping my hand harder.
“I went to Mario and told him that there was a hit out on his wife thinking that he would try and protect her but instead he was the one who put the hit on her. I didn't realize that until it was too late and he had someone else take care of it. He then in turn put a hit on me. I couldn't be near you and your mother because they were coming after me. I didn't realize your mother would get involved with someone who was involved with Mario in the end. Bad luck I guess.” Bad luck? Is that what he calls my mothers death? He could tell that he just hit a nerve with me.
“I didn't love your mother and she didn't love me. You were so young you didn't see that. We only made things work around taking care of you and throughout the years I did send her money so that you had everything that you needed.” Money? She never told me anything about money but that doesn't surprise me. I loved my mother but she was not the best with her priorities. “She never told you, did she? If I could have taken you I would have but this is no life for a child.” I felt sick to my stomach and needed a bathroom. Os could sense it and grabbed me and started to go towards the bathroom. “Where are you taking my daughter?” I kept walking until I got to my bedroom and walked in.
“She's about to get sick, you prick, give her a minute.” Os walked in with me and shut the door. I went to the bathroom and went to the toilet. I was able to control myself and calm down. I just sat there and just stared into the toilet as if waiting for an answer. “Kelsey, are you ok?” Os came over and started to rub my back and then the tears came rushing down. “He's here in my apartment. Why is he here? And your mother Os, I'm so sorry about her.” I try to breathe before I freak out and have a panic attack. In and out. In and out. “It's ok baby, just another thing showing that we were meant to be together.” I looked up at him and saw a small smile but saw heartache as well. “What do you want to do baby, I will do whatever you want.” Os is being sincere but I know that we need to deal with him now and not push this off anymore.
“We need to finish this now and I need to know what else he has to say.” He rubs my back a little more. “Let's go see what else he has to say.” Os says as he goes to pick me up. I stand in front of the mirror and look into it. I still see the bruises on my face and neck and wonder if my father is curious about who gave them to me or what he would do if he knew it was Os’s Father. “Let's go finish this.” Os takes my hand and we walk out of the room and back to the living room where my father was. “Kelsey, are you feeling better?” I look over at him and go to sit down. “Im fine, lets just keep going please.” He nodded and went on with his story.
“Mario had put the hit out on me but knew nothing about you or your mother so I thought you two would be fine until I heard your mother was killed. I came and saw you in the hospital when you were there. I have kept tabs on you through the years to just make sure that you are ok.” I half laugh when I look at him and he seems confused. “Keeping an eye on me? That's funny because I have had to do everything by myself. I haven't had any help from you. Sara’s parents have helped me more than anyone. So don't sit here and act like you should get the father of the year reward because that isn't happening.” It seems like that might have hurt him for a second but then he masked any emotion that he had.
“I want to be there now. I want to help Mr. Riggs with his problem that he is having currently but it requires you to give me the chance to make up for all of the lost years.” I look at Os trying to figure out what problem he needs my father for. Then it hits me. My father is a hit man and Os wants him to kill his father.
