Chapter Eight

"Crutchie cheese it!" Racetrack shouted before running away, Racetrack pulled me away with him grabbing my arm. I saw the police blocking the exit off
"Crutchie!" I screamed
I tried to run to him put the others pulled me back
"You're gonna end up in the refuge!" Mush screamed
"Av's we'll break em out tonight, promise!" Jack said taking a hold of me
"Alright!"
He said looking me straight in the eyes
"Alright!" I replied.
We all went our own ways until dark, I went with Skittery, Racetrack, Blink and Mush we went down to alley ways to smoke.
"Man, wonder what they did to Crutchie" Skittery said while leaning on a dirty barrel
"We'll get em back!" Mush said tapping Skittery on the back to comfort him
"Yeah he's too bright and sunny to be in a refuge!" Racetrack added on
"Yeah..." I agreed
Racetrack handed the cigarette he had to me
"How'd it end up on me so fast?" I asked
"Mush don't smoke!" Racetrack replied
I took a smoke then handed it back to Skittery and the pattern repeated
"How bout we go smash some glass bottles?" Skittery suggested to us
"Sounds like a plan to me!" Racetrack agreed
"Yeah let's go!" Mush said
We went to the back of the butchers to tons of empty bottles and buckets
"Alright I'll line em up!" Racetrack said
"I'll help ya, pal" Mush responded
Me and Skittery stood there sharing a cigarette
"We'll smash es guys!" Skittery said grinning
"We always do!" I replied nudging him playfully
Racetrack and Mush finished setting up the bottles
"Ok I want a fair clean game, Aight?" Racetrack stated
"Yep!" We all replied
"I mean it Ava!" He said pointing at me
"I don't cheat! I just be smarter than yous all!" I replied
"Ava!" They all complained
"Ok fine, I won't cheat!" I said to shut them up
We started playing so far Skittery was winning
"Man how have you hit four already we only have one, Ava had two!" Racetrack said
"Guess I'm just the best!" Skittery said being cocky
"Oh shut it Skits, you'll see!" I replied challenging him
"Oh I would love to see!" Skittery replied grinning
We played some more, finally I was beating Skittery I had 6 now and he had 5
"Told ya!" I said
"Don't be too cocky! you're only one above me!" Skittery replied
"Says you! You're always cocky!" I replied
"Yeah and he never wins!" Mush said laughing. We all laughed with each other before continuing the game,
"That's 8!" I said grinning to Skittery
"Well I win without cheating!" I said to them all proudly
"Still can't believe I got beat by a girl!" Racetrack sighed
"Your lucky I don't bet that much!" I replied
"Yeah tell me bout it I'd be skint!" He said laughing at me.
We all walked out of the alley way Skittery had his arm around me as we all laughed and joked, we went to a place not far from the alley way it had a bunch of old and rusty things, we needed to find a rope
"Over ere!" Racetrack shouted to Me Skittery and Mush we quickly walked over and saw a rope that look thick enough and strong enough to use
"Looks alright to me!" I said looking at Mush
"Yeah me too!" Mush agreed
"Aight Skits and Mush test it out!" Racetrack said lighting his cigar whilst handing them the rope,
Mush and Skittery played tuggle war with it
"Aight test 1, success!" Mush said happily with a cute smile
"Now number 2!" Racetrack said smoking his cigar, they tied it around a pole over a window and pulled it until the bars blocking the window broke off
Me and Racetrack looked at each other and nodded impressed
"I think we have a keeper fellas!" Skittery said smiling and putting his arm around Mush. Skittery carried it until we got back to the alley way. We saw everyone smoking and chatting with in another
"It's weird not selling papes" Mush said
"Yeah, we don't really have anything to do, no more!" Racetrack replied. I went to join Jack
"You ready?" I asked him
"Yeah, let's get heading!" He replied grabbing the rope of me, and then we were away into the darkness to break our friend out of jail.
