RED [dallas winston]

     "regretting him was like wishing you never found out, that love could be that strong"

     the curtis house had become a breeding ground for uncomfortable energy and it had taken weeks for things to calm down. it was certainly still awkward for dally and harley who's entire relationship felt like a fever dream. nowadays they typically hung out in two groups, that's why when harley and two-bit entered the nightly double she didn't expect to lock eyes with dallas winston. of course two-bit ran to sit next to dally who was accompanied by ponyboy and johnny. harley reluctantly followed sitting next to ponyboy. she chose to ignore dally and made conversation with johnny and ponyboy.

      "oh my god ponyboy you totally like her!" harley gasped almost standing up from her seat.

     "no i dont, harley shut up!" ponyboy stuttered his face turning red. harley laughed turning around in her seat. "harley you cant look directly at her!" pony protested pulling harley back to her seat.

     "i cant believe it. your first girlfriend! does she like you back."

     "not my girlfriend. besides i doubt she likes me back, we only did one group project we've hardly spoken." ponyboy sighed.

     "aw pony." harley said pulling ponyboy into a hug. "come on were gonna go talk to her!" the girl stood up confidently offering her hand to ponyboy who excepted.

      johnny let out a small giggle. watching ponyboy fix his hair and wipe his hands on his sweatshirt. immediately harley spun around "what are you laughing at johnny your coming too!"

     "why me, this really sounds like a pony thing."

      "we need you for emotional support, come on!" harley said pulling johnny up and pulling both boys towards the concessions stand where some girl in ponyboys class was standing in line to order a coke. harley wasn't even sure of the girls name but she knew by the way ponyboy was looking at her that it was the right girl.

     "hey ponyboy! what are you doing here?" the girl chimed as the group approached her a big smile on her face. ponyboys face was red and johhny and harley slowly backed away allowing ponyboy to have a conversation with the girl.

      they stepped in the end of the line deciding to get some cokes still watching ponyboy and the girl.

      "your really pretty." a voice said causing harley to spin around. "sorry, i didn't mean to scare you. i just saw you and i thought you were cute."

     "oh. i- thank you." harley stuttered her face turning red. she was looking at a random boy she'd never seen before. "i'm harley." she smiled putting out her hand.

     "peter." the boy said shaking her hand. suddenly a group of guys surrounded them pulling peter away, he shot harley a smile and a "nice meeting you" before getting pulled away.

      now if anyone asks dallas winston was not watching harley. and he certainly didn't feel jealous watching another guy make her blush. he most definitely wasn't thinking that that should be him. 

      harley on the other hand had been so consumed by ponyboy's love-life she had forgotten dally was even there.

      when the movie ended and their group started to walk back harley was stopped by peter again. "hey harley, are you leaving."

     "yeah i'm heading back, it was nice meeting you though."

     "let me walk you." peter suggested.

      suddenly an arm wrapped around harleys shoulders "i got it, you can go." dallas said giving peter a look that one could only imagine said 'leave now before i hurt you'.

      "bye harley" peter said looking like he had seen a ghost and walking away quickly.

      "why did you do that?" harley groaned pushing dallys arm off of her. she realized everyone else had left so she was stuck walking with dally who certainly wouldn't let her walk alone.

      "you didn't even look into him."

      "i forgot you were the expert of showing off who your into."

     "you know i didn't mean to hurt you"

      "i know." harley admitted. she wasn't sure what came over her but the girl grabbed his face in her hands and kissed him. obviously he kissed back, it was harley.

      "that can't happen again." harley said when they approached her front door.

     "i know." dally said as harley had before in the night.
