She poured herself a cup of coffee while enjoying the sunset once again from the window of her kitchen. It was her favorite time of the day. She felt guilty because she can't enjoy her favorite things; coffee, and sunset because her racing mind was playing a game against her once again.
It is almost 7 pm and she must get ready. She puts on her jeans and her favorite T-shirt, she loves to feel comfortable despite her mother's comments about her casual look and her wish to see her wearing things that are more suitable for her age. But Leyla doesn't look her age anyways. the mirror reflects the picture of her favorite cartoon the Flinstones n her T-shirt. It immediately brightens her face with a radiant smile and she thinks: perfect.
She leaves the house quickly, operating almost automatically, as she takes the subway and roams lost in her thoughts and dreams until she finds herself in the elevator of the building where she works..the strong perfume of the guy in front of her, a hint of orange flower and black pepper awakes her senses.
She enters and waves warmly to her colleagues, Nadia waves back quickly before continuing to look on her computer. She hears the voice of Ali from the kitchen, laughing do hard. Dina probably was telling him a new joke. All so familiar and so heartwarming.
She sits in her office and reads the emails. Today is the first year anniversary of Radio Alwan and her program will be exceptionally longer than usual so she goes through today's program again and reads an email from Ali that made her blush a bit.

Dear Leloş
Today is the first year anniversary of our little baby. I remember very vividly how we spent 10 hours straight making plans and brainstorming ideas to open this radio station. I was excited but I never thought that we will have an audience from all around the world. I am happy that we met and made this project together. I hope for us to celebrate the 10th anniversary.
PS: There is chocolate cake in the kitchen, Dina made it and it is very delicious.
She started to remember how she met Ali and how he believed in her since day one. He was a bit eccentric and seemed quite eager to be her partner in this crazy project. Leyla is sure that her dream came to life because of him, his guidance, and his optimism. Life was very different than now a year ago.
Dina calls her from the studio...The program is about to start ...
