Axle explained to Mad Dog and Irish what Giancarlo did to the LOH. Everyone knew Venom and the others would be dealt with at some point, but none imagined the whole charter would be executed. That's never happened before with any mc club. And just like the Skulls, the LOH had other charters as well, including their mother charter in Los Angeles.
"How do we handle this?" Viper asked his father. "I'm not sure, son," Mad Dog answered honestly. "This has never happened before, not since I've been a member," Irish added.
"Who's president of their mother charter?" Charlie asked.
They all looked at each other, waiting for someone to answer. "Someone you don't ever want to meet." Ink chimed in. "Patrick Mulligan aka 'The Death Reaper," Capone answering her question, "Rumor has it, he has ties to the IRA in Ireland."
"Don't forget he's a one-percenter," Tank added.
Bikers who wore 1% patches on their cuts were considered outlaws in the MC community. Most motorcycle clubs, or 99%, were law-abiding citizens; however, there are the 1% who incorporate a criminal element into their businesses.
"Yeah, he sounds charming." Charlie scoffed.
"Look, let's not get ahead of ourselves here," Irish piped in, "As far as we know, Venom did this off the books without Patrick knowing." "I say we operate as normal as if we never saw this." He pointed to the video and the severed heads.
"Irish is right; there's no sense in creating more problems unnecessarily," Axle agreed. "Tank and the Unholy, burn the heads out back." "Spook, delete the video." He instructed.
"Exactly, we never had this conversation." Priest added.
Charlie walks over to Axle, leaning against the bar in heavy thought. She noticed he's been drinking much more than usual, but then the club's situation isn't normal.
She glides her arms around his waist and nestles her face against the crook of his neck. "Are you ok?"
Axle brought one of her hands to his lips and kissed it gently. "There are so many battles right now; I don't know which one I'm supposed to fight."
He was exhausted, and Charlie could feel it. "I never imagined Menace's death would lead to all this." He waved his arms around the room. Charlie moved her body so she could face him.
She placed a soft kiss on his lips. "You can only fight the battle in front of you." Axle tightened his embrace around her. "I love you." He whispers. "I know." She hugs him closer.
"Prez, can I borrow Charlie for the fingerprints?" Spook asked. "Yeah, sure." He said, giving her a quick kiss on the lips.
As she was walking away, Mad Dog approached. Axle let out an exasperated sigh. This was a conversation he didn't want to have at the moment. But he knew he couldn't hold off much longer. He had to explain why he claimed Charlie, especially when Viper warned him not to.
Mad Dog gripped Axle's shoulder. "I know you have a lot going on, but we're overdue to chat." "Smoke?" The elder gestured towards the backdoor of Cathedral. Axle nodded and followed him outside to the back courtyard.
Mad Dog held out a cigarette. "Don't tell my wife; I'm supposed to be quitting." Axle chuckled, taking it while Mad Dog placed a lighter against the butt. He blew out a long smoke.
Axle let out a breath. "If this is about me claiming Charlie." "Don't," Mad Dog interrupted him, "We're beyond that now, even if I told you to leave her, would you?"
