Bucky feels the cool salt breeze cut across his face, and he takes a deep breath of crisp, ocean air. Standing aboard the S.S Starchaser, he was on the top of the world. He gazes down at his crew. There was Rumlow, the cook; Pierce, his second in command; Ward, the cleaning man, a simple guy; and others such as Johann, (nicknamed skull because of his habit to smash skulls), Arnim, the translator for the crew; Sitwell, and only one lady on board, lady Natalia. Bucky, of course, was captain, and it had taken him years to gather a suitable crew amd make his way to the top.

They were pirates, so they plundered, stole, and did worse to small cities on the water's edge. Bucky didn't quite know what the draw to being a pirate was; the thrill, he always assumed. The risk of pushing the law, the excitement of doing something he wasn't supposed to. Sometimes, though, he questioned himself. Should I really be doing this? Will people get hurt because of me? Why should I even care about that? These thoughts were usual. Once he made the mistake of telling Pierce, who readily assured him it was fine. Bucky wasn't stupid, he knew what he was doing was bad. But he still did it, and he still liked it, loved it in fact.

Really, the only crew member he was 100% comfortable with was Natalia. They would talk constantly, usually in Russian, which was Natalia's main language. Arnim had helped everyone pick up on it quickly.

Bucky blinks and takes a breath, then steps back into his captain's quarters.
