A few weeks back...
Yoo Jin Woo browsed though the documents about the new charities he was interested in helping out. Yoon Jin Ah had done the due diligence he requested and luckily there were no issues found with the listed organisations. There was one thing that kept nagging in his mind though.
The first patient he had helped. This was the only person whose records he was not so familiar with.
When he started the foundation, his reasons were understandable but not quite as altruistic as one would think. He was young, wanted to make his own way into the world and had a bunch of cash from his inheritance. His financial advisers told him to open the foundation and he agreed but didn't really care about the details.
He was clear about wanting to help, that father he heard touched his heart, but he went about his business after his donation.
As time passed by, Yoo Jin Woo learned that sometimes, one operation was not enough and for others, there was long term care required. Once he learned that, he took a more active interest in the children they helped. Quietly, he checked up on the status of the kids and informed their hospital contacts to let them know if any of the children were hospitalised again and would be needing funds.
Since he started dating Yoon Jin Ah and became close with Shim Hye-won, part of Jin Woo wondered if, by any chance, he was her sponsor.
Those records were old so his staff needed time to retrieve them but once he received the file, he couldn't help but smile. Yes, he was the sponsor but that was not the reason why Jin Woo was happy.
Shim Hye-won was living a wonderful life filled with love and Jin Woo now had a front row seat to watch her bloom. It was not something he was able to witness in the other patients and he was glad to have made good decisions.
Yoo Jin Woo also felt happy that, maybe, destiny did play a role in how he and Jin Ah crossed paths.
To his staff member, he issued a gentle reminder. "These records are strictly confidential, understood?"
He loved Jin Ah and this new connection was great news, but he did not wish for her to be with him only because of this. They will build their relationship together. This bit was just icing on top.

Kang Gook held Hye-won's hand as if he were transferring his own life to her.
"Wake up, Chipmunk," he whispered. "Wake up. I promise we'll never spend a night apart again. Just wake up. Please? Please?"
Hae-sook was at the other side of her daughter, who now lay on the hospital bed, unmoving and hooked up to machines. The doctors already ran tests and it was now just a matter of waiting. "This is my fault. I stressed her out too much. I knew in my heart she was happy with Kang Gook-ah.. why did I do this to her?"
Mi-yeong hugged her sister. "Hye-won-ah will be alright."
Yoon Jin Ah stood at the foot of her cousin's bed, numb. This can't be happening, she thought. Please let Hye-won be okay. I wish I could have Jin Woo here with me. I feel so alone.
At the VIP lobby, Yoo Jin Woo was pacing around, hoping for the best. His sister was now resting at home as she also had to take care since she was pregnant but his father remained at his side. As Hye-won was rushed in earlier, the whole family piled in but he was stopped by Jin Ah's mother. "Family only," she insisted. "This is private."
