Author's Note: Thank you for sticking with this story! The next update will probably be 2 weeks from now. Apologies, but I'll be away this weekend. I'll try to have one typed and posted maybe Saturday night or Sunday, but I cannot guarantee. x

While you regained your composure, Tony had called Fury. The room is still silent, with no one knowing what to say or do.

"Are you sure that they are.....?" Thor says just above a whisper.

"Yes," you match his volume, watching the water swirl in the bottle. You wait a few more seconds before speaking again, "My parents and I had come to Midgard for a trip. We went to Central Park to return to Asgard, so my father called for Heimdall."

"The Bifrost should have brought you home," Thor shakes his head thinking.

"It started to, but...." your hands are trembling in your lap. "Th-there was a surge of some sort. When I opened my eyes, I saw my mom fly out of the Bifrost in one direction, and my dad in the other. Then, I was falling...."

"And then you were back in New York?" Tony questions.

"The next thing I remember, is walking around the city, being picked up by the police, and you, Nick," you say just as Fury enters the tower. "The rest, is...." you begin to laugh, but tears begin to fall as well.

Nat places her hand on your shoulder, but you pull away, "Sorry, I...I need some air." You wipe your tears and go out to the balcony.

Tony stands, "This one's all me." He walks out to you, "Hey, kid."

"Tony, I'm really not in the mood to talk right now," you sigh.

"That's alright. I wasn't either," he stands next to you, leaning on the railing.

You turn to him confused.

"No one knew what to say to me either when my parents died. No matter what anyone chose to say, it never made it any easier or better," Tony's jaw clenches, and you can tell he's not used to sharing this with others. "The pain will subside, but it'll always be with you. I wish I could tell you otherwise, but I'm here. Even if you just want someone to sit with," he lightly smiles.

Your smile follows suit with his, "Thank you, Tony." You rest your hand on his lower arm.

----------------------------------------------------------

You got zero sleep that night, and found yourself in the training room at 6am, before anyone was really even awake.

Emotions are building in you as you throw energy blast after energy blast at the indestructible wall, eventually causing you to sink to your knees and cry.

While your head is buried on your knees, someone enters, "Someone is up earl....Y/N?"

You hear the voice, but make no movement. All you feel is two arms wrap around you and the presence of the person now right next to you on the ground.

You try to calm yourself, but your breathing is coming faster, in turn causing you to tremble even more. It doesn't matter who it is with you right now, you need to get away in case you hurt them.

You yank yourself free and get to a corner of the room, clenching and unclenching your fists.

"Y/N. Look at me," the voice says sternly.

You open your eyes and bring them to where you just were and see Loki standing there, slowing walking to you, "NO! You need to leave; I do not want to hurt you!"

"You will not hurt me," Loki says calmly, still talking steps to you.

"I-I-I can't stop this. I want to scream. Cry. Punch something," you stutter through your words, feeling the tears coming again.

"So do it. All of those things. Scream. Let out all of your tears. Punch ME. I do not care," Loki has now made his way to right in front of you.

"Loki..." you look-up at him, pushing your tongue to the roof of your mouth.

He waves his arm and a punching bag appears between you, "I will hold it. Have at it."

You give the bag one punch.

"Good," Loki nods. "Again."

Next you give it 2 or 3 punches, and before you know it, it's been maybe 20 or more punches. You've lost count, but now you're kicking it.

Loki laughs a little, "I just hope it is not me that you are pretending is the face on there."

"Not. This. Time," you say between kicks, a small smile slipping on your face as well. When you say the last word, you give the bag one last kick.

"Any better?" Loki asks after you catch your breath.

"Yes," you examine your now calm hands, and then you look back at Loki.

"Good," he magics away the punching bag.

"Thank you for that," you pause. "For someone who says that they don't care for others, you really helped."

Loki thinks for a second, "You once said that you did not care either, and yet you were concerned about hurting me."

"I already told you. You're not at the bottom of my list. Plus, I'm not completely heartless," you shrug.

"I suppose you're not at the bottom of my list either," Loki tilts his head up with a smug look in his eyes.

You walk-up to him, "Please, we both know that I am your favorite." You poke his chest with your pointer finger, "Oh, that's right!" You hold that same finger up, "I'm," you look at your finger and move it a little closer, "#1...literally."

"I stand corrected. Now you are at the VERY bottom," he pinches the top of his nose. "By the realms are you incredibly annoying."

"Again with the compliments, Charming. You really know how to woo someone," you start to walk to the door.

"You...." when Loki doesn't finish his sentence, you turn around to him.

"Let's go. You can work on your comebacks over lunch," you raise your eyebrows once in a joking manner.

Loki grunts, but then you hear his footsteps behind you.
