The Sun is just rising a few days later, when Loki feels you kick him under the covers, "Seriously, Hlin?" He turns over.
You, however, do not wake-up. Instead, you kick him again.
Loki groans, "I will NOT tolerate a third ki....!"
You fall off the side of Loki's bed, onto the floor, when you try to turn over, which instantly wakes you up.
"Hel!" Loki jumps out of bed and gets over to you.
You're out of breath, sweat beading on your forehead, and trying to grab anything you can to stand-up.
"Hang-on, use me," he helps you to sit on the edge of the bed. "Are you alright?"
"I...." you try to explain, but then you feel it. You push off of the bed, running to the bathroom, where you collapse next to the toilet and puke.
Loki is at your side again instantly, "It's alright. Breathe."
You feel Loki put his hand on your back, and a few seconds later, you lean your back against the sink, Loki sitting right in front of you.
"I have a few questions, but the first one is if you are ok," Loki says quietly, rubbing just under your knee.
You nod, "Getting there." You take some water.
"Your health is top priority of course, but you realize that you had kicked me twice, before falling out of the bed," Loki tucks a strand of hair behind your ear.
You laugh, "Oh, I am SO sorry for the inconvenience your highness." Followed by an eye roll.
Loki takes a breath, "That's not what I..."
"I know," you put your hand on his. "Sorry. I was having a nightmare."
Loki squints and tilts his head in confusion.
"According to Nick, I would wake-up with no blankets because of my night-kicking," you look down and lightly smile.
"What are your nightmares about?" Loki shifts his sitting so he's more comfortable.
You pick at your fingernail, "My parents and the Bifrost..." You say without looking at Loki.
"And the throwing up?" Loki questions.
Now you look-up, "Happens every time after the nightmares." Without a warning, a tear falls from your eye.
Loki pulls you to him, "Come here."
You lean onto Loki's shoulder, wrapping an arm around his torso.
After a few seconds, Loki goes to adjust your head, but his hand brushes your forehead and then pauses, "You're burning up, Hlin!"
You put your hand to your face, "This will usually last a few hours, but then I'll have a regular temperature again."
Loki removes his hand and examines it, "Would...would you allow me to try something?"
You nod.
"You will let me know immediately if this causes you any pain. Understood?" Loki looks at you very seriously.
"Yes," you make sure to assure Loki.
"Right," Loki looks down at his arm again as it turns blue, with nervousness filtering across his eyes.
You notice the hesitancy on his face, "Hey." You touch his other arm, "Don't worry. I trust you."
Loki's mouth falls open when he brings his gaze back to you. He says nothing, but there's relief in his eyes, when he once again puts his hand to your forehead.
The sudden touch sends a chill through you, which Loki notices, "All good. Just the initial cold."
Loki focuses back on controlling the amount of cold he is applying, and about a minute later, he takes his hand away, "How do you feel?"
You place the back of your hand on your now normal-temperature cheek, "Much better." You smile, "Thank you, Loki."
"Good," he helps you stand now.
You turn to the door, but Loki grabs your arm and spins you between him and the sink, "We both know Frigga will want to know about this, Loki."
"And she will. But first," Loki lifts you so you're sitting on the sink, flicking his wrist to rid your mouth of any leftover puke.
"I finally get to give you that haircut?!" you tug on his hair with your hands, using plenty of sarcastic happiness in your voice.
"Not exactly the activity I had in mind...." Loki's eyes drift from yours to your lips, and there's less than a second before he crashes his lips on yours.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
After a few more kisses.....Ok, fine, more than a few kisses, you and Loki are walking the palace halls, "And now we've missed breakfast."
"And yet I find myself rather satisfied," Loki tightens his grip on your arm that has looped through his as he smirks.
You roll your eyes once more, "Fantastic. Very happy for you."
Loki raises an eyebrow, "Are you not satisfied?"
"I would be more so if food was involved," you conjure a plate and a fork and start eating as you walk.
Loki leans over, "Hm." He sniffs and then reaches to your plate.
"Absolutely NOT!" You tap his hand with your fork, "Being 'rather satisfied'," you do your best Loki impression. "Means you do not need food," you take another mouthful.
Loki leans on Frigga's door, "Come on. One bite."
"Hlin doesn't share food!" you say sternly.
Loki frowns, "And here I thought that you loved me."
You jab your fork into a potato, "Here." You hold it out to Loki.
Instead of taking the fork from you, Loki leans forward and eats it straight from the fork.
"And how is it, my prince? Is there anything else I can do or get for you?" you say sarcastically and curtsy.
"As much as I enjoy the sound of that, not at this moment," Loki turns back to Frigga's door and knocks. "I can have a list prepared for later though."
Frigga opens the door and greets you, "Saved by the door, Charming." You poke Loki in the back as he walks in.
