The three of you have sat down at a small table in Frigga's sitting room, "What can I do for you both?"
You pick at your middle finger, leaving your tea untouched, so Loki speaks, "Hlin woke this morning, sick, with a fever to match."
You clear your throat, "This happens every time I have a nightmare."
"Ah, right. So no grandchildren yet?" a hint of a smirk appears on Frigga's face as she takes another sip.
Of course you decided to finally take a sip of tea right when Frigga spoke, causing you to nearly spit it out. You look up and see a similar grin that Loki gets on his face. He may be adopted, but Loki definitely got that from Frigga.
Loki's eyes widen as well, "Mother..."
She places her cup down, "By the heavens, relax. I may no longer be young, but the terms of courtship have not been lost on me. I know what happens."
Loki clears his throat, "Right, well, I believe I will take my leave."
When he goes to stand, you pull Loki's arm back down, "I beg to differ. If I am sitting here for this conversation, you will be too."
"Now, these nightmares. What are they of? The same each time?" Frigga questions.
You nod, "Yes. They..." You pause for a moment, "Are of the incident in the Bifrost, when I lost my parents."
"Understandably so," Frigga thinks for a second. "I could remove the nightmares for you."
You frown, heart sinking a bit, "Would that also take away that as a memory? If that is even a possibility, I cannot..." you shake your head, nervous.
Frigga takes your hand across the table, "It will do no such thing. All of your memories will remain intact."
You lick your top lip, "Alright. Then if you can, yes."
Now Frigga stands and kneels in front of you, placing each of her hands on both sides of your head, "This will not take long."
It doesn't hurt, but you can feel almost a tickle going through your head, that you can't scratch.
After about 2 minutes, Frigga's hands slowly drop, "If you do have the nightmare again, please come back to me."
"Thank you, Frigga," you smile.
She matches your smile, "Of course, dear. It is very clear to me now, as to why your mother would always speak so highly of you."
The mention of your mother leaves your throat dry, "....what?"
"Your mother was a seamstress was she not?" Frigga sits back down.
"She was, but..." you shake your head trying to understand.
"And one of the best in Asgard," Frigga continues. "I would not trust just anyone when it comes to palace materials and fabrics."
"My mom did say that she had some...top priority clients," it all starts making sense to you.
"We often discussed you coming with her to the palace. I could have aided in your training, alongside Loki, who was apparently training you already as well," Frigga smiles over to Loki.
Loki's head snaps up, "You knew?"
"Things you were doing may have gone unnoticed by Odin, but never by me," the smile doesn't leave Frigga's face, but you can see the stern layer there as well.
Loki's normally pale features turn a slight pink.
"Guess the God of Mischief is not as sneaky as he once thought," you fight back a laugh.
Loki gives you a 'We will discuss that comment later' look.
"However, if you were to have come to the palace, I could not ensure your safety. You were young, with great powers," the smile leaves Frigga's face.
"Loki and Thor had said the same back on Midgard," you nod once.
"While your powers have shown incredible growth, if you have any questions, my door is always open," Frigga stands, silently instructing you and Loki to do the same.
"I appreciate that; thank you, Frigga. For everything," you give her a hug.
"Anytime dear. It is nice to finally have you here. Home," she squeezes your hand.
You step out of the room with Loki and close the door, but he stops, "You go on ahead. I...need to speak with my mother for a moment."
"Ok. I'll be in the gardens," you decided not to question Loki, knowing he won't tell you anything anyway, so you take a step to leave.
"Ah, ah, ah. Not so fast," Loki calls out, spinning you around and lightly kissing you. "Better. Now off you go," the smirk is back.
"You get that from your mom by the way," you point at his face. "We will be discussing that comment later." You give Loki the same look he gave you just minutes ago.
-------------------------------------------------------
You're walking through a part of the garden when Thor calls for you, "Lady Hlin!"
When you turn around, Thor is walking with a woman.
"Allow me to introduce you to Lady Jane," he holds his arm out for Jane to take.
A woman with long brown hair steps forward with a smile, "It's a pleasure, Hlin. Thor has told me much about you. He speaks very highly of you and Loki."
"Just do not tell Loki," Thor turns from Jane to you.
You catch Loki slowly walking up, "No one has to, brother. Though, I would like that in writing."
"Funny. You look a lot like my suitor, but your ego is slightly larger," you loop your arm into Loki's.
"ANYWAY, I have brought Jane here to announce our courtship to mother and father," Thor smiles and takes Jane's hand.
Your eyes widen, taking your attention from Loki, "THOR! That's amazing! Congratulations!" You jump and hug hum tightly.
"I gather they will be more...enthusiastic about you beginning a courtship than my own," Loki mumbles, still just a step behind you.
You step back and nudge him in the arm.
"Ow," Loki frowns at you, rubbing his arm pretending you hurt him. "But congratulations, Thor."
"Thank you, Hlin. Brother," Thor laughs.
Jane looks at you, "They are truly brothers?"
"Adopted," you, Thor, and Loki all say in unison.
"Apparently," she laughs.
While the four of you continue to chat in the garden, you get a sick feeling again, "L-Loki?" You say, nearly puking on the spot.
Loki and Thor each take one side of you, "What is it?" Loki questions.
Before you can say another word, Sif and the Warriors 3 come running out of the palace, "It's the Dark Elves. They've returned."
