today was the day I was going to school, I had gotten into a school for gifted children because according to the principal I showed a lot of promise. my mum had just dropped me off at the classroom and I saw that only 4 other children were there. to my surprise, Grover was there. I didn't think we would meet this early, but I quickly recovered from the shock and went up to him.

I greeted him accidentally scaring him, he stuttered out an apology and told me his name. I asked then asked him why he was apologising for me scaring him and told him I should be apologising. he looked at me almost starstruck and immediately asked if we could be friends, but before I could answer him someone else spoke up, it was a girl with dark-blond hair and brown eyes, she said:" I wouldn't if I were you, little Grover over there is an annoying crybaby, I would know as I went to kindergarten with him.

kindergarten, I thought satyrs were only ever sent out to help demi-gods find their way to camp and look for the great god pan, I didn't voice my concern and instead said to the girl:" I would rather be friends with someone who cries allot that a stinky bully, how about you go take a shower instead of being mean to people.

the other kids in the class were all astonished at me saying that, it was obvious that this girl had already established some sort of hierarchy, even though it was only the first day.

the girl began sputtering and started to gather tears in her eyes, she ran out of the class crying. I got dirty looks from the other students gathered around ( except Grover). apparently, that girl is quite rich and spoilt so the entire class was under her thumb and the real reason she tried making me her friend instead of Grovers was because she wanted full control over the class.

a few minutes later a teacher came in with the girl and grabbed me by the arm while I was having a conversation with Grover, the weird thing was that I could tell the teacher was some sort of creature, that made it obvious that there was at least one already discovered demi-god somewhere in the school, I knew it wasn't me because the monster simply took me to the principal instead of pulling me into a secluded room.

the principal asked me why I had been mean to the girl whose name was apparently Alisa york, I told her that the girl was being mean to Grover and tried to tell me not to be friends with him, seeing as I don't have charm speak I had to bank on the innocent act. they got Grover is here to testify that I wasn't lying. he of course told the truth and Alisa was put in a time out for starting a fight and lying as she said that she didn't do anything.

when the lesson started we began with reading, I noticed that the dyslexia problem was still there but was less aggressive than the one described Percy to have.

the thing we were supposed to read was the princess and the pea, it's a simple story so it makes sense that first graders would practise their reading, especially children of a school like this one on it but I grounded non the less.

we were called on one by one to read so the teacher could get a taste of what level we were on personally. Alisa was pulled out of time out and made to be the first to read, at first she refused to do so and started throwing a tantrum, but then the teacher told her that if she read the first bit all on her own that she could leave time out.

she started to read almost instantly, yet her reading was so slow that it took her almost 3 and a half minutes to read it:" on-ce u-pon at-t-time there was a p-rince w-ho wanted to marry a p-rincess, b-but she would haave to be a rrrrreal p-rincess. H-he t-rav-eleled all o-over the wor-ld to find-d one, b-but nohwhere co-uld he g-get what he wan-ted. Ther-e were prin-cess-es enou-gh, b-but it-t wa-as dif-ficu-lt to fi-nd out wh-ether the-y w-were real on-es.

(I'm not doing that to you once upon a time there was a prince who wanted to marry a princess, but she would have to be a real princess. He travelled all over the world to find one, but nowhere could he get what he wanted. There were princesses enough, but it was difficult to find out whether they were real ones.)

everyone was annoyed at the end of this, even Elisa's closest friends. Elisa was ent to her seat and I was called on to continue it, the teacher seemed to be trying to compare the two of us. I stood up and started reading the next part of the story:" There was always something about them that was not as it should be. So he came home again and was sad, for he would have liked very much to have a real princess. One evening a terrible storm came on; there was thunder and lightning, and the rain poured down in torrents. Suddenly a knocking was heard at the city gate, and the old king went to open it.

the teacher looked surprised at how good I already was at reading, I sat back down as the teacher praises me, I thank her even though her praises fell on hades' door.

Elisa seemed to be really mad about me being praised while she was simply shooed away, it took about 10 more minutes for us to get through the rest of the small story and when we reached the end we were told to choose something from the room to play with and that we would continue learning after the break, I chose to go and draw together with Grover while the rest chose to play with toy cars and Barbie dolls.
