This had been Everett's plan all along, to go away, leave me on my own. He left me alone to realize that I no longer held onto Adam, or any of the bad things. Everett left me only thinking about him. How I wished he was here, how I got a dog just to feel closer to him. He had planned this all out. He knew I'd figure it all out without him being here.

When I met up with Adam it was supposed to be a dream come true but instead I turned him down, why? Because I was happy with Everett. Finally, finally able to be free of everything and just be myself and Everett would be my side, for real.

I took Noel out of the car, I carried her inside kissing her head. Thinking over and over about Everett.

---------- Three Months Ago -----------

Tyler's house was full of people, Everett and I were dancing. He was telling some funny joke from one of the books he had read. "How do you know exactly how to make me laugh all the time?" I asked. "What can I say? I'm just a funny guy." He replied.

"Like I didn't already know that," I said. "Then why did you ask?" He smirked. I didn't have a comeback so I just laughed. "How did I make such a funny friend like you?" I asked. Everett stood there, "why don't we go back and ask the sixth grade us huh?" He said finally.

"If that was possible my old self would tell you that you were good at finding the girl in the black and pink puffy coat." I laughed. "Oh yeah," he laughed, "and she'd be right."

"I don't know where I'd be if we weren't friends Everett." I said. "Probably at home and not at this party," he said. "True," I laughed. If I hadn't talked to him again after eighth I might've moved on and found a different friend by now, but I couldn't imagine anyone but Everett. Everything I did just had to be with Everett, everything besides work.

"Oh look karaoke," I said, "c'mon lets sing a Taylor Swift song." I had put Taylor Swift on so many times in the car that Everett knew as many songs as I did (them all). "Jennaaa, noooo." He pouted. "It's just our friends, it'll be fun." I said. "Fine," he said, we got up on the makeshift stage in Tyler's house. "What Taylor song do you want to do?" I asked him, "uhhh." He paused.

"Corneila Street," he said. I turned to look at him, "we don't need karaoke for that. Tyler? Can I borrow a guitar?" Tyler in the back of the crowd nods and I grab one from the side of the makeshift stage. I strum the chords and urge Everett to sing with me.

"We were in the back seat, drunk of something stronger than the drinks in the bar."

"I rent a place on corneila street, I say causally in the car."

"We were a fresh page on the desk, filling in the blanks as we go."

"As if the streetlights pointed in an arrowhead, leading us home."

"And I hope I never lose you, hope it never ends."

"I'd never walk corneila street again."

"That's the kind of heartbreak time could never mend."

"I'd never walk corneila street again."

"Cause baby, I get mystified by how this city screams your name."

"And baby, I've so terrified of if you ever walk away."

"I'd never walk corneila street again."

"I'd never walk corneila street again."

"Windows flung right open, autumn air."

"Jacket round my shoulders is yours."

"We blessed the reins on corneila street."

"Memorized the creaks in the floors."

"Back when we were card sharks, playing games."

"I thought you were leading me on."

"I packed my bags, left corneila street."

"Before you even knew I was gone."

"But then you called, showed your hand."

"I turned around before I hit tunnel."

"Sat on the roof, you and I."

"I hope I never lose you, hope it never ends."

"I'd never walk corneila street again."

"That's the heartbreak, time could never mend."

"I'd never walk corneila street again."

"Cause baby, I get mystified by how this city screams your name."

"And baby I'm so terrified of if you ever walk away."

"I'd never walk corneila street again."

"I'd never walk corneila street again."

"You hold my hand, on the street, walk me back to that apartment."

"Years ago we were just inside."

"Bare feet in the kitchen, sacred new beginnings that became my religion."

"Listen."

"I hope I never lose you."

"I'd never walk corneila street again."

"Oh, never again."

"Cause baby I get mystified by how this city screams your name."

"And baby I'm so terrified of if you ever walk away."

"I'd never walk corneila street again."

"I'd never walk corneila street again."

"I don't wanna lose you."

"I don't wanna lose you."

"I rent a place on corneila street, I say casually in the car."

The whole crowd watching us cheered, Everett smiled at me and I smiled back.

--------- Present ---------

I gave Noel her treat, she loved it. A whole bunch of thoughts were filling my head. All of them about Everett and I. My vacation I had taken from work was almost up but I'd go back for two days and then work on my plan, find Everett and tell him.

Tell him.... tell him what he's always wanted to hear from me.

Tell him I love him.

Because I always have.
