Lights flashing and microphones pointed at me as after I was awarded.
"Can I ask a few questions?" One reporter asked as I kept walking.
"No" I replied.
"It will only take a moment-"
"I refuse"
How bothersome.
After my teacher helped me escape from the media, I saw Kisaki sitting alone on a bench with his award in hand.
Taking the opportunity, I approached him and held out my hand.
"You're Kisaki-kun, right? I'm Sano Michiyo. That was a great competition earlier, congrats." I said.
He was timid and shy but he then shook my hand and congratulated me as well.
We sat in silence for a while before he finally asked a question.
"Uhm, can I just ask who your coach is? My coach told me earlier that your coach might be someone great since they prepared you for everything. The last question wasn't even for our age but you knew it right away." He said nervously.
"I have no coach, I just self-studied. My teacher was the only one to take me here." I said and he looked back with shock and amazement.
"Then, what type of books do you read?" He asked.
"Some complex books that I find in the public library." I replied.
Another moment of silence was created until he suddenly stood up, facing me with a timid look.
"Is it okay if you teach me how you study, too? I know it's a hard request when we were just competing a while ago." He asked, averting his eyes and nervously fiddling his fingers.
"Sure, I'll be at the public library every Saturday afternoon." I said and he bowed as thanks before he bid goodbye and left.
I watched him walk towards a car which I assumed to be his dad since he looked a lot like Kisaki in his time skip a version but in a more humane version. He looks like a salaryman.
Opening the door to our house late at night after my teacher drove me home, the moment I switched the lights, a loud pop of confetti made me flinch.
