I was silently listening beside Seishu's hospital bed while Akane and Koko were having an emotional conversation.
"Akane-san..." Koko muttered.
"Thank you for saving me, Hajime-kun. You really fulfilled your promise in protecting me." She said as he cried.
"Don't say that Akane-san, if only I came early then you won't get hurt this bad. I'm sorry." He said.
He was half burned but her body had a lot and they would need 20 million yen for her to fully recover.
"Don't worry, Akane-san, I'll make that money even if I die." Koko said.
"I appreciate it but you don't have to. I'm just happy that I made it alive." She said.
Koko was about to say something when the door opened and it was Seishu's parents along with someone I called.
"Excuse me for a moment, can I speak with Michiyo for a moment." Keiji asked.
We went outside leaving the family to discuss among themselves. He was silent until we walked far away enough that no one can see or hear us.
"What you did there was reckless." He said.
"If I stood by then they both would've been through something worse." I reasoned.
"If something went wrong, you would've died!" He said, his voice slightly faltering.
"But I didn't" I said.
"But what if did?!" He asked and he held my shoulder.
"If I did, you could have my research notebooks. Everything that I know is all listed and expl-"
"THAT'S NOT WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT!" He exclaimed and slowly kneeled down on the floor as he began to tear up.
"I'm not talking about our deal. I'm talking about you. You're just ten years old, doing such wreckless stuff can easily take your life. What about your family? Why did you just run in without any regard for your safety?" He asked.
"If I stood still when I knew it would happen, my consciousness won't let me live peacefully like I want to." I said and he looked up at me, bewildered.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
It's almost a year since I and Keiji met and worked together. Along those lines I learned to trust him, partly because he reminds me of an old friend.
"I have memories of my past life, Keiji. And this world that we currently live in is a Manga Series." I said.
Whether he believes me or not is a problem. It won't affect anyone anyways.
