Simon's POV

"Beautiful outift, as always, very e girl" Ethan smiled.

Ethan was my best friend, and easily my biggest supporter. The best thing about Ethan was that even as a straight man, he was never afraid to hype me up. He had a healthy relationship with his masculinity and fully embraced my feminine style, regualarly complimenting my outfits.

"Thanks Ethan" I grinned.

Today I was wearing a baby pink pleated short skirt with white fishnets, and pink and white striped cropped jumper. I just had white sneakers on with them.

"Have you heard that rumour about Joshua?" He asked me.

"What rumour?" I asked him.

Joshua Bradley was... Interesting. He was the school's badboy. I guess he was the opposite of me.

Without sounding cocky, I was also well known around the school. It was kind of hard not to be when you were a guy who wore feminine clothing. Half of the student body thought it was empowering and respected it, complimenting my outfits, the other half... Well, they had a lot to say about my sexuality.

I was gay, so whilst they weren't wrong... They still said it maliciously.

Joshua wore all black. Usually ripped jeans with great silver chains dangling from the belt loops, paired with some black band shirt and several silver necklaces. He always had black leather, silver spike studded cuff bracelets on and black high tops.

"So apparently he was caught stealing" Ethan told me.

"Holy shit, really?" I laughed "Damn, didn't know he was that much of a dick"

"Yeah, don't know how true it is or where he stole from or what he stole, but that's what I heard" he shrugged.

We dropped the subject for now and headed to first lesson. We both had English first lesson - Joshua was in our English class, so hopefully we'd hear some more of the gossip.

He didn't arrive by the start of the lesson. The class were quick to start talking about what happened.

"Yeah, apparently he was stealing from asda"

"No it was lidl"

"What was he stealing?"

"I don't know, croissants?"

I snickered at that joke, but the class shut up very quickly as Joshua walked in late.

As usual, all black, silver jewelry.

I didn't understand people making fun of how he dressed, he had a good sense of style. The stealing and the violence I could understand. But it just confused me that a lot of people were cool with how I dressed, and those same people made fun of him.

As the lesson progressed, I got a little lost on the task we were doing. The teacher wasn't in the room at the moment either so I tried to get Ethan to help me. Ethan was much better at English than me, so I flicked my pencil at him, except, that didn't happen.

I watched in horror as it hit Joshua in the back of the head.

He span around so fast, his eyes dark with anger.

"What the fuck was that for?" He spat, coming over to my desk.

"It was an accident-"

"Do I look like I give a shit? Don't touch me"

God he was scary. I really thought he was gonna kill me from the dark look in his eyes. My heart pounded in my chest as I tried to think of what I could say to save face in this situation.

"If you think you can get away with fucking hitting me just because you're the innocent pretty one that everyone likes you're wrong, you're just as much of a dick as everyone else in this stupid fucking school" he slammed his hands on the desk.

Something about that comment really pissed me off. Particularly the part where he said everybody likes me.

"Joshua, shut the fuck up. It was an accident. When have I ever bothered you until just now? Jesus christ, get your head out of your ass and calm the fuck down. Not everybody is out to get you" I snapped.

Ethan stared at me in horror, knowing I was probably dead.

"What did you just say to me Minter?" He grabbed me by the front of my shirt.

"You heard me" I riposted.

"If I didn't know better I'd slap that stupid look off your face" He pulled me closer.

"Didn't know better? I might be dressed feminine but I can still fight your ass any day" I hissed.

"Is that right? Hit me then if you're that brave" He smirked angrily.

I might've back down if it wasn't for what I heard one of the assholes in the class whisper.

"He would never, he dresses like a girl, probably fights like one too"

It wasn't right to take my anger out on Joshua, but I was already angry at the guy.

My fist cracked against his jaw and his head snapped to the side. He glared at me as he rubbed it before his scowl twisted into a sick smile.

"Not bad pretty boy" he whispered before walking out of the classroom, presumably to ice his jaw. I warned him I hit hard.
