Ethan didn't come with me this time because I was going to talk to Josh about moving in with me. Of course I'd promised him updates on what was going to happen.
When I entered Josh's room his eyes lit up and he flashed a wide smile. I was glad he was feeling better now. Hopefully this news would make him feel even better.
"Hey" I grinned, sitting down beside him on his bed.
"How was school?" He asked.
"No small talk, I got something important, something I think will make you happy" I grinned even wider.
"What is it? You've got me nervous now" he said.
"If you could move out, would you?" I ask.
"Well obviously" he nodded.
"I've already asked, don't worry... Wanna move in with me? We got a guest room" I said, fighting my smile.
Josh's jaw dropped.
"Simon don't fuck with me, are you serious?" He said and I nodded vehemently "Yes, I would be so grateful, thank you so much"
"It's okay Josh, I just didn't want you to have to stay with them anymore" I said.
"Simon you don't know how much you're the best. I just- I made a horrible first impression on you, and this is the kindness you show me. Honestly you're amazing" he beamed.
I flushed red, grinning at him.
"Don't thank me, nor apologize. We made a clean slate remember? We're friends" I told him firmly.
He pulled me into a tight hug, resting his head on my shoulder.
"I have to thank you, I can't thank you enough. This is the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me by a mile" he said, words muffled into my shoulder.
"Anything to get you out of that house" I said softly "You think they'll let you leave?"
"One hundred percent, worst case scenario I tell them we're dating so they'll tell me to leave" he nodded, now breaking the hug.
"Or you could just say you have a boyfriend and not specify" I laughed, face heating up.
"Nah it'd be fun to get to brag about dating you" he grinned.
"Josh" I whimpered, flushing violently red.
"Why do you always assume I'm joking? It genuinely would be a brag" he smiled.
"Well, my self esteem isn't that great" I admitted.
"Why? You're - and I hope you don't mind this word, I know people give you shit comparing you to a girl - but you are really beautiful" he said.
"Do you really think so?" I asked.
"Of course I do, you're absolutely blessed with your looks. And your outfits are stunning on you" he promised.
Was he trying to make me fall for him? Because at this rate he'd succeed. Nobody had ever complimented me in this way before.
I couldn't even think of anything to say back. I was stunned silent by what he'd said.
"Sorry if I've made you uncomfortable" he said quickly.
"No, no not at all" I said, a smile tugging at the corners of my mouth.
I quickly texted me dad to update him.
Simon: Josh has said yes to staying with us and he's really grateful x
Dad: He's more than welcome, can I come early to pick you up so I can meet him and figure out how we're doing this? X
Simon: Yeah of course x
"My dad is gonna arrive early to pick me up so he can meet you and talk about moving out plans" I told Josh.
"Okay sounds great" he smiled "Oh, what does he know about my situation?"
"I'm sorry I had to be quite blunt and honest about what was going on because I wanted him to understand why I wanted you to move in" I explained.
"Okay that's fine, I just wanted to know whether he knew or not in case anything got brought up and caught me off guard" he said.
"Yeah of course, I doubt he'll ask much, probably just wanna know how we're getting your stuff and things like that" I told him.
"It'll probably be a messy situation, but it'll be worth it to get out of there. I think they'll be angry if I move out, I need them to kick me out" he said.
"Okay, use me as the boyfriend excuse if you want" I nodded.
