Josh and I had gotten dressed and were now stood in my room.
He smiled at me, wrapping his arms around my waist as he stepped forward, lips meeting mine in a soft, short kiss. He leant his forehead against mine.
"Is there anything you need? Aftercare?" He asked gently.
"What's that?" I asked in slight confusion "Isn't that a bdsm thing?"
"No, everyone deserves it after, it's just pushed more in that community to make sure everyone feels safe. But no matter how vanilla it's still a good idea" he explained.
"I don't know what specifically it is... But can you stay with me for a bit?" I asked.
"Of course I can" he smiled.
We both laid down on my bed. He opened his arms so that I could lay on him, draping my arm over his stomach before he took me into a tight embrace.
I smiled, feeling extremely happy in this moment.
"Josh... What does this mean for us? I could barely ignore the fact that we kissed, I don't think we can go by just acting like this is a normal friendship" I said quietly.
"I know, and I would love the chance to be with you, but I think we need to get to know each other more first. That doesn't mean we can't do this though" he smiled, lifting my head so that he could kiss me.
I smiled back into the kiss. This one was far more slow and gentle than the others had been. This one was full of feelings waiting to be explored and unspoken promises.
He tangled his fingers into my hair, deepening the kiss but keeping it slow and passionate. I felt unbelievably happy right now.
"You mean a lot to me Simon" he mumbled against my lips "You have quite literally changed my life"
"Well you said you didn't like your life, I wanted you to have a better one" I said softly.
"Trust me, I do. You're all that I need to feel happy" he said, looking into my eyes.
"You're making me happy too" I told him.
"I'm glad, you have a beautiful smile" he said, stroking my cheek.
"Is this what aftercare is?" I asked him.
"This is one way it can be, yeah. Some people prefer space though, others like to find something to do together" he explained.
"I like this" I smiled, laying my head on his chest once more.
"Good" he whispered, kissing the top of my head and running his fingers through my hair.
A moment of comfortable silence passed before Josh spoke once more.
"I have every intention of being your boyfriend just so you know, so don't worry that we're not official. That means nothing, it's just us getting to know one another first, because we weren't really even friends for that long before this" he said gently.
"I know, so what don't I know about you?" I asked curiously, smiling.
"Well my full name is Joshua Charlie Joseph Bradley and my birthday is the 4th of september" he said.
"Simon Edward Minter, and mine's the 7th!" I grinned.
"Well you know we're having joint birthday celebrations together right?" He grinned back.
"Obviously"
"When's Ethan's birthday?" He asked me.
"June 20th" I told him.
"So how did you guys become friends?" He asked.
"He saw people being dicks to me in maths and I always came in early, so he came in early too and told me to come sit with him. We made friends quickly and I helped tutor him in maths in exchange for him keeping people off my back in that lesson" I explained.
"Oh that's really cool, it's good you made a friend like him" he nodded.
"Yeah, he'll always compliment my outfits and stuff and have my back, which by the way, he's straight so don't worry about how close we are" I said.
"Don't worry I wouldn't, you guys don't come off that way. He just seems like a brilliant ally. I trust you anyway" he promised.
"I trust you too" I smiled, kissing his cheek.
"I want a real one" he grinned, his lips on mine once more.
I really could get used to this.
