Prologue

Elena's P.O.V.

I was at the Boarding House listening to Damon screaming at me for disobeying him, I crossed my arms and said "Damon why don't you shut up for once? I had enough of you controling me, your just a bully" Damon looked shocked and shouted "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU ELENA? YOU SEEM LIKE A DIFFERENT PERSON AND I DON'T LIKE IT" I rolled my eyes because yes I am different, that because a few months back I found out a secret that no-one knows about, well that's not quite true:

I was walking through the woods enjoying the fresh air before the pain begins, I never knew that I was a werewolf, it was quite the shock when I killed someone by accident:

Flashback within a Flashback

I was on the way back from watching a movie at Bonnies and I thought it would be a nice night to walk home but what I didn't expect was someone to grab me and push me against the wall of the alley that is next to the closed Grille, I looked to see a man that looks strong, I can tell he is human and from the looks of it he thinks that I am weak, he strangled me and said "You shouldn't have walked on you own" I can feel him going to the front of my jeans but I didn't let him, I pushed him away from me and said "Stay the hell away from me" he chuckled and said "No, you see I saw you a few days ago and I liked what I saw" I stumbled to the right, I tried to find something to defend myself when I felt something cold swipe my finger, I quickly got something when the guy lunged at me and without even thinking I stabbed him in the throat so deep that he looked shocked, he dropped to the floor, twitched for a second and then nothing, I was shocked, stumbled over to him to see if he is alive or dead, I pressed my fingers against his throat and I knew right then and there that he is dead, I groan in pain which I don't know why, I looked at a mirror that was broken, leaning against the wall oposite me to see my eyes are golden, I gasped in shock when I hear someone coming towards this way, I quickly got up and went round the back out of sight.

I was about to reach the place I go to for the last month or so when I hear "Elena?" my eyes widen in shock, turned round, saw that Caroline was there and said "Care, what are you doing here? I thought you were having dinner with your mom?" I looked up at the sky to see that I haven't got long to get down into the cage when Caroline said "I was but Damon called me to ask if I had seen you, I didn't so I thought I come find you" I sighed and said "Caroline, please go back home, you shouldn't be out here" Caroline looked at me and said "You shouldn't be either, why are you out here Elena?" I opened my mouth to say something when I felt my ankle snap, I gasp in pain, looked up at the sky to see the moon has reached it's apex, I stumble to the entrance to the Old Lockwood Basement, Caroline gasped and said "Elena what's happening to you?" I panted and said "Care, leave" she shook her head and said "No I am not, why didn't you tell me that your a werewolf?" I gasp in more pain when my bones started to break, I stumbled down the stairs with Caroline following me, I went into the main part when I hear the gate closed, I looked to see Caroline closing it so I don't escape, I took a breath and said "I will tell you everything Care but after I turn back human" after I said that I started to shift, I don't even know what was happening after because it was all a blur.

I started to wake up when I heard the doors open, I looked up to see Caroline coming towards me and she said "I went to your place to get some of your clothes, we can talk here because then we will be alone" I nod my head, sat up, got the bag that got my clothes in, got changed and walked to Caroline, she crossed her arms and said "When did you find out your a werewolf Elena?" I sighed, went next to her and said "A month ago, at first I was shocked because I never knew, after the shock wore off I was searching for why I am, it turns out that Isobel didn't tell the truth" Caroline looked confused and said "About what?" I looked at Caroline and said "John Gilbert isn't my father," Caroline's eyes went wide in shock, I nod my head and said "It would seem that before Isobel slept with John, she slept with my birth father a month prior, Isobel passed me over as John's child because she didn't want to tell him that she was only using him for her own benifit" Caroline shook her head and said "Why would Isobel do that?" I shrugged my shoulders and said "I have no idea Care, I guess she didn't want to admit that she never loved John" Caroline looked at me and said "Who is your birth father Elena?" I shrugged my shoulders again and said "I have no idea Care, I read Isobels journals that she kept hidden from everyone and it never mentions who my birth father is or was, only that he wanted to name me Andrea when he found out that Isobel was preganant with me" Caroline sighed and said "So you been coming here for the passed month on your own?" I nod my head and said "I have, I wanted to tell you, Bonnie and even Jeremy but before I could things would get in the way, so I just never told" Caroline came over to me, hugged me which I hugged back and she said "I am here for you Elena, you are not alone anymore" I close my eyes because the weight of carrying this secret around was weighing heavily on my mind.
