Chapter 15 - Le Grand Guignol.

Flashback - Jazz Club, 1919.

Inside of the club a Jazz number is playing while everyone is united and enjoying themselves as people are dancing, singing, laughing, mingling and drinking, while at the bar Elijah, Klaus and a werewolf named Lana turned to observe the scene in front of them, Klaus smirked and said "This is a first, werewolves, vampires, witches and dirty cops," he glanced at a group of cops that are raising their glasses and toasting to honor the occasion, Klaus said "They are all happy as clams and drunk as stoats" Klaus smiled at that while Elijah ordered three shots for them when Lana said "You got to admit, you gotta love this city" Elijah passed one of the shots to Klaus and Lana and said "Let's propose a toast shall we, to a new era and to a collaboration in the face of the Prohibition" Lana looked between the brothers and said "Also, to you dock, their booze and our theatres to hide it under, so you're welcome boys" all three of them raised their glasses and toasted together and drink, Klaus turned to look at Lana with a smirk on his face and said "Now, I think I shall have to think of a way to thank you personally Lana, of course in a manner befitting of a werewolf queen" Lana looked at Klaus while stroking his face affectionately and said "I will catch you on the dance floor then but don't be too long" Klaus chuckled and said "I will be right with you" as Lana walks past to head into the crowd Elijah turned to his brother, who was looking at Lana's behind, and said "Niklaus," he waited for his brother to look at him and said "Who would have thought it possible, the unification of New Orleans? Where everyone is at peace with one another" Klaus chuckled, playfully grips onto Elijah's shoulders and said "They're at peace because we did it brother, our home is safe and thriving" Elijah puts his arm around his brother's shoulder, whirls him round to overlook the scene before them and said "We certainly worked together Niklaus" Elijah gestured to the room and said "But this vision? This is all you".

Present Day - Compound, Klaus's Bedroom.

Klaus is lying in bed shirtless with his eyes closed and gasping while Elijah watches from the side, Elijah said to Klaus "This is all you" Cami rushed into the compound in a hurry while the vampires round the room glances at her because they are confused by her presence when one of the vampires said "Ok, what is the bartender from Rousseau's doing here?" none of them knew the answer but couldn't say anything because Elijah appeared in the door and calls "Camille! Please follow me" Cami walked through the door of Klaus's bedroom and said "I got you message, why did you call me? And have you found a way to help my uncle?" Elijah gestured to Cami and said "I can try and find a solution for your uncle but you need to do me a favor first because I need you help" Cami looked ticked off and said "Look, I have don't have time for games Elijah because the hex that Bastianna put on him is getting worse by the day" Elijah sighed and said "I know but I have been busy since I got up this morning because my brother has a mystical torture device buried in his chest that keeps him from causing chaos and the mother of his child in inexplicably missing, so I can assure you Camille that I have no time to play any games, either" Cami looked at Elijah shocked but grew serious when she said "What do you need me to do?" they were in Klaus's bedroom a few minutes later and Cami is looking at Klaus with some type of emotion that Elijah can't focus on right now, Cami said "Wait, so you are telling me that the dagger that the witch gave to me is inside of Klaus?" Elijah took his jacket off, rolled his sleeve up to the elbow and said "And every single second that it remains causes Niklaus untold suffering" Cami shook her head and said "But who stabbed him?" Elijah looked at Cami for a second but went back to look at his brother and said "I did" Cami looked shocked and said "Why?" Elijah looked at her and said "Niklaus went after my sister last night after the mother of his child's friend left to go back to college, he didn't wait an hour before he went looking for Rebekah and I was just lucky that I had the blade in my hand because I had a feeling that I might need to subdue him while Rebekah and Marcel run far away from him" Cami looked even more confused and said "Then why explain all that to me?" Elijah went back to look at his brother and said "Because I intend to remove it from him, so you might want to take a step back" Cami took a few steps back from the bed while looking shocked and confused at the same time, she said "Then why ask me to come here?" Elijah didn't look at her but said "Because Camille, there has only been one other person that Niklaus wouldn't immediately slaughter but she left last night," Elijah picks up a scalpel that he placed on this side earlier, sliced into Klaus along the bright red scar on his stomach and continued to talk to her "He also speaks highly of you," he plunges his hand into Klaus's chest and said "which is a rare degree, well for him at least, of respect and to be honest with you, I can see you challenge him to see himself and others in a new light".
