Chapter 21 - The Battle of New Orleans.

Jackson and Oliver are driving back to the French Quarter after collecting the stones for the moonlight rings, Oliver wanted to look at the stones again but he didn't want to cause Jackson to swerve, so he looked at the bag in the backseat over his shoulder, Oliver shook his head and said "I don't know why we agreed to go get them, it's a lot of driving just for a bag of rocks" Jackson sighed but didn't take his eyes off the road when he said "You know that if we want them then we have to collect them, besides we will be in the Quarter by dawn, plenty of time to get back to the bayou before the full moon rises" Oliver looked out of the window for a few seconds, sighed, looked back at Jackson and said "And you are positive that the hybrid will make do on his part" Jackson looked at Oliver for a minute and said "You know that Elena will make sure of that" Jackson went back to looking forward when Oliver scoffed and sarcastically said "Yeah, I forgot that your fiance's got him wrapped around her finger" Jackson shook his head, looked back at Oliver and said "You know Ollie, I love you like a brother but if don't lay off Elena then we are going to have a problem and what's your deal any way? You told me that she grew on you?" Oliver shrugged his shoulders because he didn't want to tell him what he had done and why it feels like she knew what he had done, Oliver just said "Pay attention to the road Romeo" Jackson looked back in front of him only to see that not far from them two police cruisers are blocking the road, which forces both of Oliver and Jackson to stop, they noticed that that was at least a half a dozen police officers standing in front of their vehicles, Jackson and Oliver just looked at them both of them becoming extremely nervous, Jackson remained calm, looked at Oliver and said "Alright, just relax okay? We haven't done anything" Oliver nodded his head while watching Jackson roll down his window, stuck his head out of the window and said "Evening officers, why have you stopped us?" one of the police officers walked towards Jackson's side of the car and said "Can the two of you step out of the car please, we got a call saying to stop the car you are driving" Jackson looked confused and said "What's this all about officer? My friend and I were just driving back home" the officer gestured to his men behind him, Jackson saw the other officers pull their guns behind the guy, which made Jackson and Oliver scared when from behind them Marcel and Diego appeared, Jackson and Oliver knew immediately that this was a trap, Marcel smiled widely that his plan worked and said "I think you should do what the man says, unless you want face the consequences because the outcome for you is not good and things would take a," Marcel exhaled and said "nasty turn" all Jackson and Oliver did was glare at the from the car.

French Quarter Park.

While Marcel was finally starting his plan, Davina and Josh were sitting on a park bench in the sun, Josh, who is wearing sunglasses was having the time of his life in the daylight that he sighed in contentment while Davina was looking worried about something when Josh said "Have I told you that you are really awesome? 'Casue you are!" Davina giggled a little but not a lot because she doesn't know what is about to happened, Josh didn't notice at first because he said "I am out in the sun," he glanced at his ring that allows him to be out during the day, he smiled slightly and said "daylight rings," then he notices a cute boy running passed him that Josh checked him out and said "that guy jogging in a tank top, how I missed seeing that because all I wanna do is..." Davina cut him when she said "Put your eyes back into sockets," Josh chuckled at that but stopped when she "Josh?" he looked at her with a confused look and said "Hmm?" Davina turned her body slightly to see him properly and said "Now that you have a ring, I think it would be best if you leave town for awhile, I don't know how messy things could get and I don't want you to get hurt by being in the middle of all this" Josh quickly turned serious and said "Davina, I am not going to leave you, not just because you will have someone to talk to but because you are my friend and I am not going to abandon you" Davina looked nervous and said "Josh, I'm serious about this, what Marcel is planning will probably back fire and you could get hurt or worse" Josh took his sunglasses off to look at Davina and said "I know that serious is kind of your default setting but that's why you need me around, lighten you up when you go too deep, so ergo, not leaving" Davina was about to say something when she looked past him, noticed that Mikael is standing of the sidewalk across the street just watching her, she got startled that he is even here still but when she looked again, he wasn't there, Josh noticed that she was looking distracted, he looked at her with concern written on his face and said "Hey, you okay? You seem like you saw a ghost" Davina shook her head to get her head back on right when she said "Just witch stuff," Davina looked at Josh and said "also, Marcel came to me yesterday and wanted my help with a cloaking spell" Josh looked confused and said "Why did he ask you for a cloaking spell for?" Davina sighed and said "He is going to make a move against Klaus, a big move" Josh looked surprised and said "But, what about Elena? She is like a little sister to him" Davina ran her hand through her hair and said "Marcel will never hurt her or Caroline or Bonnie or even Jeremy because they have been here since the beginning of the month" Josh nodded his head and said "Elena is due to give birth, they have been gathering stuff from the stores for when she does" Davina looked at Josh and said "I'm worried about her" Josh smiled reassuringly at Davina and said "Elena has people to help her Davina, she's not alone" Davina nodded her head and said "I know but I just wish I could help her, she has been there for whenever I needed her and I can't lose her" Josh turned his body to face her, got her hand in his, squeezed it and said "You won't lose her, she's strong and by the time she gives birth maybe things will quieten down" Davina exhaled and said "I hope so, Elena deserves that after all that has been done to her" Josh smiled at Davina and said "She does but she still scares me".
