I continued telling her all the happy stories I could remember until she fell asleep on top of me. I laid and held her there, never wanting to let go.
I watched the doctors and nurses pass by. And then I saw a fuming mom. My fuming mom. She signaled for me to come. I pointed to Han, happy for an excuse. Mom persisted and I slowly got up and Han groaned. I kissed her head and went to mom.
To be honest, she has never approved of me liking Han. She just kind of accepted that I loved her, but she thought I would never see her again.
"What are you doing?" She was whisper screaming. Doctors passing by looked at us questioningly.
"Hanging out with my girlfriend." I didn't bother whispering. Mom was going to yell at me, but I went straight back to Han and cuddled with her. She smiled in her sleep.
I hugged her.
Mom sighed and came back with a schedule. I had to be at training. I missed two months worth of classes and all they want is more training. Did anyone care around here? She gave me a schedule on paper, then left.
Katniss came in and saw us hugging.
"Hi, guys, how are you Johanna?"
She groaned.
I smiled.
"We're good, well I am."
"That's good." She looks around, distracted.
"Well, I've come because, unfortunately, Aven, you were recruited to war."
"WHAT?!" I didn't care about my volume right now.
Katniss tried to stay calm. I didn't even bother. Han was out again, from stress, I think.
"It's going to be okay. You'll make it out."
"But if I don't and what will Han do without me, and my mom needs me and I can't die!"
"They both survived without you before, didn't they?"
"NOT THE POINT"
She hugged me.
"I wish I could do something about it. I was just sent up here to comfort you, and if Coin sent anyone else, they would have been dead."
I slightly laughed. But it turned to crying. I leant on her shoulder and just sobbed.
I didn't stop for a while, but Katniss was great.
A week later, I was off.
I didn't make it 500 words this chapter, but I will next time, just tired.
