"Oh my god, it's packed in here," I gasped the moment Axel and I stepped foot in the house.
There were people at every corner, dancing, drinking, smoking, and maybe even all three at once. It was chaos in here, but honestly it wasn't bad. I liked the fact that I knew all of the people here. I mean after all, every one of us has been going to school together for four years now.Graduation was just around the corner, so it was only fair that we partied like there was no tomorrow.
"Okay, so like..." I briefly looked up at Axel to see him staring at the drinks table. "Text me when you wanna leave."
"Whatever," He replied, and then we both turned around and went our separate ways, to our separate groups of friends.
"Hey girllll!" Erica slurred at me, and giggled at the way that she was already stumbling on top of me. Erica was one of my friends. She wasn't Noah, but she was someone I knew, nonetheless. You know, one of those people who you talk to in class, borrow a pencil from, and say hi to in the halls? Yeah, that was Erica.
"Hey, you seem to be having fun!" I shouted over the music with a smile on my face, my hips swaying a little to the music, Jada and Ian doing the same near me. They were all just classmates, more than friends. Just the people who were fun at parties. Jada had a cup of something that looked like vodka and maybe lemonade, and she offered it to me, saying she didn't want anymore of it. I took the cup from her, and downed the whole thing. It burned my throat a little. I decided that since Axel was going to drive, why not drink a little? It wasn't the end of the world. I came here to have fun, after all.
"I am!!! You look sooooo super hotttt!!!!" Erica jumped up and down and threw her hands above her head, "I almost did even't recognize ya!" Her words didn't really make any sense, so I just laughed along and joined everyone in shouting the song lyrics and having a good time. We ended up taking a few shots, and honestly I lost count after the first five.
After a little while, I could definitely feel the buzz from the alcohol I'd already consumed, but I felt like I needed something else to wash the taste out of my mouth, so I shouted over to Jada and told her I was getting a drink, and whether she wanted me to get her anything. She didn't offer to come with me, though I thought she would. She just asked me to get her a beer, so I squeezed out of the crowd and stumbled out towards the bar.
Brad's house was so fucking big. There were endless hallways and super tall staircases and at least 47 bedrooms. It was crazy. Too bad it was so dark in here, because I would love to get a proper house tour of this place in the daylight.
"Hey! Can I get two beers?" I told the guy who looked way too old to be here, as well as strikingly familiar. I assumed he was Brad's brother, considering now that I thought about it, they looked pretty alike, and that's probably where the familiarity was coming from. He nodded at me with a smile before filling up the cups and handing them to me.
I felt the coldness of the beverages in my hand and walked back into the heap of people to give Jada her drink. After I did though, I realized I needed a little break from dancing. So I parted my lips and chugged down the beer. Maybe a little too fast.
I walked over to a different room, deciding to explore the house a little bit, and give myself a tour since I wasn't going to get a proper one. I walked kind of aimlessly around, going through small hallways and opening a few bedrooms that I wish I didn't.
I kept my drink in my hand and used the other to wipe the small beads of sweat that were beginning to form from the simple atmosphere of this house.
Too. Many. Fucking. People.
