Orion's POV
I had just finished setting the table when Hunter came into the dining room with Alex in his arms. He placed him in the seat that had a purple plastic plate and sippy cup set in front of it.
The little boy stared blankly at the wall behind me. I sighed before taking a seat of my own next to Alex and across from Hunter. I grabbed the bowl of mashed potatoes and put some on my plate.
"Stegosaurusr." I heard Alex whisper.
He was currently holding a dino-shaped chicken nugget in his hand while his small fingers traced the edges of it.
Hunter gave him a curious look. He looked towards me but all I did was mouth 'later' to him and went back to eating. As I chewed my food I thought back to earlier today.
---------------------------------
I sat on the couch in the living room reading a book my teacher assigned for homework. Suddenly there was a loud thump from up stairs that caused me to go into defense mode. I creep up the stairs and walked into Emo's room. The book laid on the ground wide open. I walked over to it and saw that it was bookmarked with a purple colored ribbon.
"What the-" I said to myself.
I picked up the blank book and closed it, mentally noting to ask Emo to read it to me later. I'm still ticked off that only my brother could read it. I carried it with me downstairs and set it on the coffee table in living room. I soon finished my homework so I decided to turn on the TV.
It was on the news channel and I was too lazy to find something else to watch so I left it there.
"Yesterday a young boy was found sitting next to the bodies of his deceased parents. Police still don't know who the killer is and have no leads. The boy has been taking into his aunts care." Said the male reporter. I sat up and paid closer attention.
"Here's a photo of him."
A picture of a little boy came onto the screen. He had short messy black hair and pale skin. His eyes had dark circles under them and his eyes themselves were purple. I looked down at the book's newest ribbon and then back up at the TV. Of course his eyes and the ribbon were the same damn color.
The reporter said the address of the boys house and i shut of the tv, hopped off the couch and walked outside towards my car.

'I have to go talk to this kid.
Maybe I can find something in the house that will tell me where the aunt lives.'

I drove to the house and looked around the neighborhood. I hid behind a tree when I was sure no one was watching me. I closed my eyes and felt myself become lighter. I looked down a my hands and saw that they were nonexistent.

'Thank god for ghost mode.' I thought to myself. Ghost mode is when no one can see, feel, or hear me.
I ducted under the police tape and walked into the house. I walked into what looked like the kitchen and searched a stack of papers that sat on a nearby table.

Nothing.

This went on for 30 more minutes. Just me searching the house and finding nothing about the aunt or her address. I passed by the blood stains on the carpet in the living room about 12 times now. I huffed in irritation and was about to give up when something caught my eye. It was a small clipboard that I must have not seen. I picked it up and saw that it had the full police report on.
"A cop must have left this behind." I said.
I looked through it and finally found the aunts address under where the boy was supposed to stay. I smiled and ran out of the house and back to my car. While I was there I also noticed a few things the police didn't.

I pulled up to the house and hopped out of my car. I knocked on the door and it swung open to reveal a short pudgy woman. She wore a kind yet tired smile on her lips.
"Hello. What can I do for you?" she asked.
"Hello miss. I'm here on behalf of the local newspaper. I'm wanted to see if I could talk to your nephew." I said politely.
"Oh....um...sure come on in." She said stepping aside to let me in. The house was small but cozy.
"Just to warn you. He's a bit...different then most children his age. With his parents and his disability, things weren't." The woman said softly.
"Disability?" I asked.
"Yes. He has a rare disease that only allows him to see the outlines of objects. No color or detail, just black shapes and white lines." She said sadly.
I nodded knowingly.
We walked down a hall way and stood in front of a door. She knocked before opening it slightly.
"Alex? Sweety?" she said. I looked into the room to see a small figure sitting on the floor in the middle of the room.
"Yes?" said a small, soft voice from inside the room.
"Someones here to see you." She said ushering me inside. I have her a nod of thanks and walked in, hearing the door click closed behind me.
"Um...hello there...Alex." I said.
"What you want?" he asked not moving from the position he sat in.
"I'm here to talk to you." I said before sitting cross legged in front of the 5 year old. His eyes were ,in fact, a violet color. They were paler then they were in the photo.
"Are you a reporter?" he asked.
"No." I said.
He looked up but not at me.
"But I do want to ask you some questions."
He nodded.
"Why did you kill your parents?"
His eyes widened.
"How-"
"Answer the question please."
He hesitated before answering.
"Xela killed them. Not me."
"Who's Xela?"
"He's my fend. He potected me. My pawents were meanies and hwurt me."
"When did you meet him?"
"Yestaday. After I had a willy bad hedache. I fell asweep and he was gust standing thewre when I waked up." He said.
"What does he look like?"
Alex's eyes trailed from looking at me to looking behind me.
"Like that." he said still looking behind me.
I stiffened at the sound of heavy breathing behind me. I whipped around to see nothing but my shadow. I turned back to Alex as I heard him giggling. My eyes widened. He was surrounded by black smoke that moved into the shape of a wolf with purple glowing eyes. Next to him sat a figure that looked like a
3-dimensional shadow of a child. It also had smoke swirling around it.
The figures eyes were a dark violet purple and it was looking directly at me. The walls of the room turned black and the room itself got 10x bigger. It looked like a stadium.
"Fetch." The figure said narrowing its eyes as the wolf lunged full speed towards me. I jumped to the side and stood quickly. I heard the beast snarl and it ran at me again. I stood my ground and smirked. The wolf jumped and went straight through me. It yelped in confusion. I turned towards the figure, who was still sitting on the floor with Alex. Its eyes were wide with confusion. I felt the wolf still trying to kill me only for it claws and jaws to pass right through as I walked towards the duo. The figure disappeared leaving Alex alone. He noticed it was gone and searched around frantically. When he finally realized it wasn't coming back he stared at me scared and scurried backwards.
"Stay away!" he yelled as more animals ,such as lions and bears, appeared next to him. They charged but froze in their tracks as I waved my hand.
"Your shadow tricks don't work on me." I said as I still walked towards him. The room slowly got smaller and all the animals disappeared.
When I saw tears well up in the boys eyes, I stopped.
"Pwease don't hwurt me." He begged, his back against the wall.
I walked the rest of the distance between us and scooped the boy up in my arms. I pulled him to my chest.
"Don't you dare think that I would hurt such an innocent child." I whispered. He cried into my chest. I looked up to see the figure staring at us from across the room. I glared at it but all it did was smirk, nod, and disappear. I walked towards the boys small bed and sat down.
"Who are you?" I heard him ask although it was muffled by my shirt.
"My names Orion Major and I'm a lot like you."
"You have super pawers too?"
"Mmhm." I hummed as I made my hand invisible. Alex gasped and tried to feel for my hand and felt nothing but the nub it left behind. I made it reappear and the boy smiled.
"Cool. Is thewre anyone elth like us?" he asked leaning his head back onto my chest.
"Yes actually. My brother. He's out right now helping someone."
"Can I go with you? My auntie won't let me out of thith room and your vewy nith." The boy said before yawning.
I chuckled.
"I was just about to ask that." I said to him.
"We can help you control your powers and you'll never be hurt ever again." I said.
He nodded.
"Alright. Do you want to pack anything?" He shook his head and I stood up with him still in my arms. I made us both invisible and walked out of the house but not before I made the aunt forget she ever had a nephew. I brought him to the house and hung out with him till it was dinner time.
---------------------------------
"You alright?" I heard Hunter say breaking me from my memories.
"Hm...Oh! Yeah." I said before beginning to eat again.
