Orion's POV

We soon finished eating and Hunter helped me with the dishes as Alex went to go play with some toys I found for him.
"So it's just you three?" Hunter suddenly asked.
I stopped scrubbing a pan so I could turn to look at him.
"Uh y-yeah. Alex isn't related to us through blood but he is a representative."
"Representative?"
"Immortal people who have superpowers like Emo and I."
"Ok. I have another question."
I looked into his eyes to tell him to go on.

"Where are your parents? You and Emo seem pretty young to be living by yourselves and I've seen pictures of, who i assume are your parents, around the house. " he asked.
"They were murdered." I said bluntly, glaring at the older man.
I wasn't mad at him, I just felt angry at the moment because of the memories the question brought up.
"Oh. I'm so sorry. I didn't know." He tried to apologize.
"It's alright." I breathed out, going back to the dishes.
It was silent for awhile until he talked again.
"How old are you?"
"16. I'm going to turn 17 in April."
"And how old is your..brother."
"20. 21 in May."
"Well I'm 24 if that helps."
"And your married and have a daughter?"
"Was and had."
"Excuse me?"
"I was married and I had a daughter."
"Oh. What happened?"
"I killed my wife and she killed our daughter."
"What?!" I shouted and jumped back, surprised.
He still stood there staring at the plate he was in the middle of putting away.
"Why?" I whispered
"I think I killed her because of all the pent up anger that had been building up over the years." He squeezed the plate and made a small crack run through the glass.
"With our daughter's death, Jackie constantly cheating on me, and my 'wife' shooting Emo I think it caused me to snap." He said sadly.
"She cheated a lot?"
"Yeah. My job required me to be away from the house a lot so she had the perfect chance to do it. When I'd come home I'd find another man's clothes, phone or wallet around the house."
"How'd she kill your daughter?" I said carefully knowing this might be a delicate subject to talk about.
"She had been drinking and-" he stopped to take a stuttered breath.
"She was in the car with her. Jackie had run a red light and a car struck the left side of the backseat where Jessie was sitting and flipped the car 7 times."
Tears streamed down his face as he gripped the plate tighter, cracking it more.
"I was one of the officers who had to respond to the call. When I got there one of my colleges threw herself in front of me and told me to go back to the station. I didn't know what she was talking about until-"
Hunter pulled the plate to his forehead, fell to his knees, and started to cry harder.
"I saw the pink.....of Jessie's frilly dress caught in the twisted metal."

I watched as an ex-police officer who had tattoos littering his arms broke down in front of me.
I kneeled down next to him and rubbed his back as he cried.
"I'm so sorry." I whispered.
"N-no. Don't be sorry it wasn't your fault." He said calming down and wiping his face.
He stood back up and handed me the cracked plate he was holding.
"Sorry."
I smiled and placed the plate on the counter.
"No problem. Emo can fix it when he wakes up."
"I'll fix what?" came a voice from behind us.

Emo's POV
Hunter whipped around and stared at me.
"Your ok." he whispered.
I nodded.
"You got shot in the stomach and all you did was nap it off?" he asked sarcastically.
"Generally yes. Remember that Alex, Lucas, my brother and I are not human. We just sleep injuries off and nothing can kill us." I explained.
"See?" I lifted up my shirt and rubbed my stomach where the bullet hole used to be.
Hunter nodded not looking at me.
I dropped my shirt and turned to Orion.
"Time for bed. I made Alex a room so you can take him."
Orion nodded and walked out of the room to get Alex.
"Follow me." I said to Hunter as I walked towards the stairs. We walked up and I turned towards an empty wall in the hall way.
"And this-" I put my hand on the wall and a brown door appeared.
"Is your room." I grabbed the doorknob and opened the door revealing a big room.
Inside there was a dresser, desk, closet, TV, and nightstands on either side of the bed.
Hunters eyes widened and he stared at me astonished.
"How-"
I wiggled my fingers mysteriously.
"Creating things out of nothing is one of my many abilities."
Hunter walked into the room and plopped facedown onto the bed.
"It's so SOFT." He exclaimed although it was muffled by the bed.
I chuckled.
"Alright. If you need anything my room is down the hall with the silver door." I say as I walk out.
I walked to my room but stopped halfway to see Orion tucking Alex in.
When I finally made it to my room, I closed the door, stripped off my clothes, and hopped into bed.
I grabbed the book off the nightstand and saw our newest chapters. One had a purple ribbon and the other had a orange one.
I turned to the purple marked page first.

I growled at the sight of the man's name. He tricked me. He tried to hurt Orion.
I know deep down that he would find us again but we would be ready for him.
I put the book back on my nightstand and let sleep sweep over me.

"Wakey! Wakey! Eggs and Bakey!"
I sat bolt straight and summoned a force field around me.
Orion, Hunter, and Alex stood at the foot of my bed.
Orion looked annoyed while the other two looked at me amazed by the field of silver energy surrounding me.
I made the shield disappear as I glared at the trio.
"What do you all want?" I grumbled.
"Can we go out for breakfast?" Orion asked full of hope.
"So we can get to know our new house mates a bit more."
I sighed before nodding. The boys took off to get dressed while Hunter casually walked back to his room.

-time skip-
We sat on the outside patio of a fairly good cafe. The table was square and the order was I had my back to the cafe but faced the street, Orion sat on my right, Alex my left, and Hunter opposite me.

Hunter, Orion, and I examined the menus while Alex colored on his place mat, occasionally asking what color crayon he was using since he couldn't see it. I thought it would be pretty depressing for a kid with his disability to be coloring but he seemed pretty content.
The waiter soon came with our drinks and took our orders.
"So how long will you be staying with us?" Orion suddenly asked Hunter before taking a sip of his orange juice.
I have him a look and all he did was shrug back.
Hunter looked from Orion to me.
"Oh well. Um...I don't know actually."
Hunter lowered his voice and leaned closer to us.
"I don't think I'll be able to go out in public without Emo's special face swap mind trick."
"You can't leave." I whispered.
Hunter and Orion turned to me with shocked expressions on their faces.
"Why?" the older of the two asked.
"I have a theory about why Lucas kidnapped you in particular." I said as I lifted my coffee cup to my lips.
"And what's that supposed to-" Hunter stopped mid sentence as his eyes widened slightly.
"Hunter? You al-"
"Shh." he whispered turning his head slightly to look over his shoulder.
I felt my ear twitch as I heard the faint sound of tires screeching.
Behind him I could see a teen trying to jay-walk.
"What's wrong?" I ask. Hunter only turned completely around to see the teen finally stepping into the now empty street.

A truck sharply turned around the corner and sped down the street towards the teen.
The teen stood frozen in the middle of the road. In seconds Hunter jumped out of his seat, ran into the street, and shoved the teen to safety. But I wish I could say the same for him.
All I could do was cover the boys' eyes as the truck hit my friend at full speed.

Hunter rolled over the hood and roof, cracking the windshield, of the car before flipping off the trunk and slamming into the pavement. I ran from my seat towards the man who laid half-dead in the road. I pulled his head into my lap. Blood spilled from the corners of his mouth and his nose.
"E-Emo." he sputtered, coughing up some blood.
"Someone call 911!" I yelled to bystanders.
"I don't want to die." He whispered, tears filling his eyes.
"Hunter look at me. You won't die. I won't let you. I swear."
I looked at the teen to see him staring, frozen with shock from we're he was sitting in the street.
"I swear." I repeated looking back to Hunter, holding him closer to me as I heard the faint sound of sirens in the distance.
"I swear."
