Emos POV
So we explained everything to Emily. At first she sat speechless but soon gave us an amused look.
"So you boys really are special aren't you?" she said jokingly.
"Guess so." I said laughing a bit myself.
"But i have to ask"she said. "Why you boys?"
Orion and I exchanged glances.
"That's the one thing we don't know." I said.
"I ahh!" Orion said,or at least tried to say, before grabbing his head and falling to his knees.
"Orion!" Emily and I yelled at the same time.
I knelt down and grabbed my brother.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"E..every..thing h..urts." he said he said sounding as if he was about to pass out or throw up or both.
"T..the..b..ook."
I stared at him confused before remembering. I jumped up and ran upstairs. I finally reached my room and saw the book sitting on my bed where I dropped it to go help Emily. It was glowing with a beautiful golden hue. I scooped it up and ran back downstairs. Emily sat on the floor with Orion's head in her lap. He had already lost consciousness like I suspected. I placed the book, which has already stopped glowing, on a nearby table and walked towards Emily.
"What happened?" she asked while fanning my little brother.
"He became a representative."
"A what?"
"He's like me now."
"Oh."
I reached down and wiped some sweat from Orion's forehead then picked him up and put him on the couch in the living room. I pulled up a chair next to the couch and sat down. I felt Emily walk up behind me.
"You love your brother a lot don't you?" she asks.
"Of course. He's all I got and via versa." I said while I grabbed his hand that was draped over the side of the couch.
"You know that's how he sat?" The nurse behind me said. I turned around and gave her a confused look.
"He would always pull up a chair next to you while you were unconscious and hold your hand. He sometimes cried because he believed you wouldn't wake up."
I turned and looked back at my brother and sighed.
"I thought I felt something dripping on my hand while I was swimming in the dark." I said chuckling lightly to myself.
"So what's with that book you two keep carrying around?"
I got up and walked over to the table were I left the book.
"It's special or 'magic' as Orion calls it. It holds the profiles of all the representatives. Once the person who is chosen to become a rep is transformed the profile appears like mine or Orion's for instance. The book glows the reps color when something is happening to their profile." I explained.
Emily nodded in understanding.
I looked down at the book in my hands.
"And only I can read it." I said
I flipped open the book to the page marked with a silk bookmark that shined in the sunlight that poured through the windows. It was similar to mine but it was gold instead of silver.
It read:
---------------------------
Heart
Representative: Orion
Major
Gender: male
Color: Gold
Abilities: adapter
Deaths: (0)
---------------------------
'Hmm. I wonder what it's going be like for him to be an adapter. I know I haven't tried that one out yet.' I thought to myself. I heard a groan from the living room followed by a gasp. I walked in and dropped the book. It hit the floor with a thud. I stood looking at the couch in shock.
